Post by: on Wed 09/07/2003 04:14:00
i downloaded this program and tried to view the demo program. then when i tried unzipping it, it didn't work. so i go to the wonderful walkthough for beginners. i make walkable areas and such. then i try walking around and it doens't work. i tried changing the begining cordnates to fit the walkable area but i still can't walk around. am i just being iname and don't know how to use the walk command?

If you put the character within the walkable area it should work. Is there anyway the download was corrupt? Try redownloading AGS and redo the whole process and tell me what happens.

you also need to set the baseline of your character... there should be a button SET BASELINE . Click on it.. and on then click on the bottom of your walkable area... then it should work

Make sure you draw a walkable area and not a hotspot or walkbehind one instead. ;)

No, you don't need to define baselines for walkables. You can't anyway. :)

One reason that i am trying to find out how to do stuff is that the demo i downloaded wouldn't open or unzip.

Try to redownload it. perhaps at another location or mirror.
