Title: Which resolution?
Post by: Ghostlady on Sat 30/07/2005 00:14:46
I am getting ready to start a new game.Ã,  Can anyone tell me why I "shouldn't" use 800 x 600 resolution? Has anyone used it yet and what are your opinions or advice.

Reasons not to use 800x600:

- It's hard to create good art for most people, since low-res is considered "easier" to create...
- When you want to use 32-bit alpha-blended surfaces it can slow down (which is not likely to be necassary for a "normal" adventure game)...

That's about it, if you can create good looking art and not use "extreme" technical features, then it's as fine as any other resolution.
