AGS freezes in full screen mode

my apologies for this question straight away as it is most definitely somthing very simple ..what occurs is every thing runs ok untill text appears on screen in the from of a pop up area such as the F1 help text in the demo...then apart from the sound effects and music, AGS freezes  doesn't respond to the mouse movement/keyboard commands and can only be exited via a complete shut down of the PC (turning it off completely) ;

i have a windows ME 800Mhz PIII computer with 64 mb ram ,

in windowed mode everything runs perfectly with no difficulty at all...

no everything is locked out only thing that responds is the on/off button on the PC, might be a video card issue (voodoo 55000) ?

what kind of monitor do you have, also?

it's a 17inch Samsung Syncmaster 750s

i've sussed that if i disable the anti aliasing on the sprites then i can run a game (am playing 5 days) in full screen , so it's likely that it's a graphics card issue (might need to play with my graphic card settings a bit) haven't sussed the editor yet tho as this has the same issue but doesnt seem to respond to the same fix...(im still very unfamiliar with the programme as yet so it might be a matter of experimenting untill it runs ok full screen )

yes it was the anti-alaising settings for the Voodoo5500 i reduced the Anti-alaising a little and it seems to be ok now..something to do with the standard text/info windows in the AGS (ie the damn im looking good ..etc) was conflicting perhaps with the AA stuff on the Voodoo.?.
setting the Voodoo back to factory settings cured this...(5 days must use different text windows so that wasn't so badly affected and ran ok with just the AA disabled on the sprites..?)

well now to the jolly part to see if i can come up with a submarine warfare sim using the AGS.. :o

Glad you figured it out. Good luck with your game.

ps. btw, there is a global variable game.disable_antialiasing to disable AA sprites which overrides the user's choice in setup.

i think i've got the vodoo card set up right ,it seems to be coping with the AA ok now

going to be a long while before i make any progress on a game , im just bashing around on a single room getting used to what does what , but from what i read on the forum and tutorials a sim type game seems possible...i'll stooge aaway at something little by little and hopefully sooner or later i'll start to understand it better
