For this competition there will be two outlines to choose from, with different rules for each.
You are welcome to do one or both.
Outline 1 rules:
1. 32 colors maximum
2. Cannot draw outside of the outline or otherwise alter the shape.
3. May draw any humanoid you like inside the shape.

Outline 2 rules:
1. Must use double-wide pixels to color. This outline is for Commodore 64 resolutions.
2. Must use the c-64 palette. The gif includes the palette.
3. Must depict a hero or heroine in a dramatic pose. You are allowed to alter the outline within reason to make it look feminine if you desire, so long as it is clear that you used the outline.

This should allow both the skilled and the not so skilled to have some fun and make neat things.

Meet Elly
I really wanted to something similar to this, where the outline is kept but what is inside changes totally, but the rules say "any humanoid you like." Is this entry allowed?

What would be the best way to do this? I figured if I use a 1x2 brush I might overlap by accident, so should I resize the image (half the width) pixel it, then resize it (widen it back to normal size)?

Yes.

You want to use a 2x1 brush, not the reverse. Since I made the outline double-wide and with the proper offset to begin with you should have no problem.

Girly masculine wrestler ahoy! (With a motorbike helmet on)
First time painting with double wide pixels. Rushed it a lot in the end. Especially the body.

Not very exciting or original, I know.

You could also try out Timanthes (http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=30789).
Oh, NOW I got Timosity's entry. Brilliant! I love seeing stuff that creative.
Looking good, Tomas. That's the way you do it!

Sorry for being noobish, but where do I find this? =/

Yeah, I know. It's rather messy, I've never tried doing pixel art like this, with doublewide pixel. But I wanted to try and I had fun. :D

Just check the outline GIF file with your graphics programme. :P

Even now he's facing down another tenuous position! Sell it all now? Or risk everything for those few extra percentage points? :o

I just got inspired by the other entries and couldn't resist. ;D

He shouldn't have loaned money from the Don.
An entry? Sure, though I'm not very likely to come through with that ;D
This turned out so horrible I really don't wanna show it, but here goes.

EDIT:
Did another one. Still very sketchy and unfinished at places but it'll do for now.

The guy in the back looks a bit out of place I guess but I couldn't figure out what else to put in that space.
I'm genuinely impressed with all of these entries! Wonderful work all around!
I got a problem, when i open the gif i only get a wholeblack image. I use paint shop pro.
Open them with some gif program otherwise you won't see the transparentcy
I think I messed it up with the background and I will take another look at it, if I have time before the deadline. :)

It was a tough choice between Tomas' space man and Pablo's spiderman, but I have a soft spot for the web slinger so
PABLO WINS!
Nice work! Now make your own contest!
I what now?
That was... surprising. O_O I'm flattered. :)
I guess I'll have to start the new one some time soon/late/later/next year.
I also liked the spiderman very much. It was brilliantly recognisable and the low amount of colors was used well. I found the dithering in this style quite hard to implement.
It was also nice to see some really imaginative entries with the other lineart. I love Tomas' musicians, wonderful piece! :)
Damn, knew i should've entered this earlier...
Oh well, that's what happens when you procrastinate.
Here's my entry anyway (mainly done for boredom purposes)

Cheers,

That's disgusting! Tell your sprite to put it away!
(I like his face though hehe)
