The rules:
16 colours max + the bg.
You can alter the outline to make him a her or stronger/skinnier.
You may remove the cape if you really need to.
You MUST remember to wear your decoder rings while pixeling, to not do so would ensure that the badguys get away!

Introducing... Captain Crash Dummy!!
Once a simple inanimate dummy for a car company, Captain Crash Dummy gained incredible size when a fast food company moved next door. CCD was thrown out in the same dumpster as the fast food company's unsold burgers. Naturally, the toxic chemicals in the burgers releases into Captain Crash Dummy, and he now goes around, exacting his vengeance on car manufacturers...the greatest and most vile villians ever...

12 colours, plus background (which is an extra one colour).

Cheers,
Fluke.
PS: My decoder ring caught on fire. Sorry. :(

Oh boy! It's "make fun of your own nationality day" again!

"Your evil scheme will never succeed, §175B StGb!"

I present you: Herr Deutschland (Mr. Germany)! After being bitten by a radioactive dish of sauerkraut, he transformed! Not a lazy and boring civil servant anymore - now he's even wearing a cape! He has the unique superpower to understand each and every german law! He even understands the obscure procedure you need  to make a request for making a request for something else!

(My code ring still works. Shall I set it to "ROT26" or just use "ROT13" twice?)

/EDIT: And YES, that's green socks and brown shoes.

THRaKKaTTaK!

Ok, so I tried making it trey gunn with his 12 string warr guitar. Obviously I suck at colouring, and it's frustrating, but that only means I have to attend more or I'll suck forever.

And what on earth is a decoder ring?

It's a bird...It's a plane...NO it's Money Man. Heeeeeere to save the day!!! LOL(I'm way too silly for this stuff or maybe just tired)

(http://www.lovelylavette.com/AGS/Hero.png) 13 colors + transparency

Yeah he may seem pretty cheesy, but he can buy his way out of any crime, meaning bribe the villains so they stop doing whatever naughty things they're doing. As a prince and the only heir to the Supa-Powa throne he can pretty much do whatever he wants or nothing at all, but he gets bored so he "fights" crime.
O yeah isn't this decoder ring a beaut: (http://www.lovelylavette.com/AGS/DecoderRing.gif)
It reminds me of, what I believe to be, the greatest Christmas movie of all time. "Ralphie you'll shoot your eye out & don't forget to drink your Ovaltine." LOL

First attempt at being spirte-ly; not used to working in 8-bit

If he can't fight his way out of a tough spot, he can find a way out by quoting random lines of Shakesphere.

Its Nacho............... At his finest. Without him squashing villans, and feeding slop to orphans theres no one to do it. Go Nacho, Go......

BTW. That was a funny movie

Cheers

I had something ready to go. I think it was pretty cool. But I'm going to skip the whole entry phase and the whole waiting for the competition to end phase and just say "Screw it all, I vote for Nacho Libre."

[off-topic]Nacho Libre is IMO a very very mediocre movie.. Not worth watching unless you really don't have anything else to do :-\[/off-topic]

On the other hand... Very nice entries! :D Very high quality on all entries here.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong! Very nice sprite Yosef! :D

I'm not the best sprite artist, but I had to submit the only real superhero, IMHO. 9 colors + transparency

Firstly *on-topic* nice sprites everyone.

Nextly...how the hell can you say Batman is "the only real superhero"? He doesn't even have super powers! He's just your average run-of-the-mill guy-who-likes-to-run-around-in-tights-and-a-cape hero. A far cry from "super" I'd say. :P

Please wait a bit before announcing the winner, I'm making an entry. :)

Edit:

Here he is, your favourite superhero!

A WINNER!
Thanx for all the entries, all good. It was tough but after some deliberation a choice has been made:

Congrats to Yosef for his rendition of Nacho libre. it is a near perfect mirror of Jack Black's physique.
here is your reward, the official Mortis-L Decoder ring!

to all other entries, awesome jobs, consider yourselves cool in my book... of cool.
