Title: Animation Competition :: Cyber Bug :: Ended :: WINNER: Zooty
Post by: Stefano on Tue 07/06/2005 23:33:58
Basic Rules:

*unless further instructions say otherwise.

This Competition's Specifics:

Dr. X is hiring insane cientists with a fertile mind, to create an army of deadly cyber-bugs to conquer the planet (bwahaha). On the first stage, you were one of the few chosen individuals who were crazy enough to fulfill Dr. X's high (and when I say high, I mean wacko) recruiting standards.
It's now up to you to design a impressive prototype and convince Dr. X you're the man (or woman) for the only job vacancy available as...

*lightning*
*wolves hawling*

...Dr. X's right arm...

Good luck and have fun.

Cheers,
Stefano

What a sad empty post. Three days left to the end of this Animation Competition, and only Zooty has posted one entry(even though a few rules were broken!  ;D).
I know the theme isn't really catchy. Unfortunately, I had to make something up really quick, as I missed I was the winner of the last Animation Competition. Oh, well.

One entry = obvious winner?
Or do I have to stretch the ending date?

:P

Uh...

Quote# From now on, a sprite is NOT supplied anymore, only a theme.
# The winner, who will decide on the next competition's theme, must also supply a sprite.

Hmm, Stefano... I like your idea of making those animated bugs, but I (and probably majority of AGSers, as I see) just don't know how to do that (;)) or don't have enough time to finish it. Holidays're quickly approaching and I'm trying the best I can to ace everything in school.

Anyway, it's disappointing -- only one participant has declared his entry and probably no one will declare its own yet. But hey, I like Zooty's bug, so afterall it's not so bad! ;)

Cheers!

My Entry!!!

This an evil bug, Dr. X calls him Frank and he has this gun that he uses to destroy other bad bad bad bugs. ;D

Maybe the sudden drop of popularity has to do with no longer there being a sprite supplied?

I too think that this competition was much more fun when there was a sprite supplied. I mean there is already Sprite Jam. Now this competition is very alike Sprite Jam except you also have to animate your sprite. It's no wonder that the popularity has dropped.

Yes, I think so too. If the sprite is given then it's also fun to see what anybody can do with the sprite and it also takes a lot longer to make a good sprite from scratch and people just don't have this time.

Yes, I guess me too! I think providing the sprite is probably what made this competition diferent from BG Blitz or Photoshop Contest, for example. I was only informed about this decision, and asked to provide a theme-only post.

JudgeDead,
I have completely missed that!  ::) Thanks...

Both entries are cool!  8)
I'll declare Zooty the winer, though, even if he misinterpreted the story a little bit. I really like how your insect can stand. Maybe he could handle some adapted weapons with his pointy hands.

Oliver, your entry is good, but is looking a lot like my example.

Congratulations, Zooty!  ;D
Dr. X is really pleased with the outcome of his selection and your bug will be manufactured in large scales, in his secret factory on X island (is it cliche enough? :D), and each unit will carry your name on the side. hehehe. The world is doomed.

You're now responsible for the next Animation competition theme.

Cheers,
Stefano
