Sam.

So i Guess i won then?

This fortnights topic is:

                              Summer

AS I see it (where I live) It is nearly summer. So this weeks challenge is to draw a BG that reminds you of summer, or signifys the perfect summer for you, or the complete inverse, the worst summer ever.

restrictions: 256 colours
                  size - 320* 200

I hope this isn't too lame.

figure two weeks is enough time.
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

HillBilly

Whipped up something quick here... The 256 colour restriction kinda screwed up the colours, though. :P

Here's the high colour version, just for the heck of it:

i'm not really enjoying doing art atm, but i'm just grinding out pieces to get throught that, this was my original idea, but missing things i really couldn't be bothered to draw; the only rule this follows i guess is summer ¬¬ not colour limit or resolution

This one took me about an hour in total:

@ 100% - 256 colours

It's sort of a tribute to the film 'the Sandlot kids' as i feel the movie really captures a summer feeling very well.

P.S: The detailling on the sign is from a Dingbat package, so i dont take credit for that.

Dude, that is seriously effing nice! You really ARE that good. Aren't I glad I didn't call the wrong shot ;)
Still here.

Lol thanks, you have to have faith you see ;)

GREAT work dan, but if a lowly pixel artist may have an opinion, i think there is something wrong with the shadows on the ballpark. MOST are VERY good and the colours are GREAT but it looks as if the sand  is actully a paper cutout placed down on the fied but lifting up as if the gle cant quite hold it down.

yeah i know what you mean, its mainly that dark green on the edge of the semi circle, and the dark green on the inner D, that sort of clashes with the darker shades of the sand. The dark green was originally meant for detailling rather than shadowing but i can fix it up easily enough.

EDIT: Fixed ;)

Sam.

okey doke, 1 day late, but i declare the voting open!

Seeing as I really shouldn't have to get up at such an ungodly hour as 7am, ill put my watch forward by 5 hours to make me feel better...
