Listen up folks. Time to blitz again. Since I won the last one with my l-toons inspired BG I choose the next topic.
The Morgue:
Imagine a rainy night in a not too small town. In the outskirts, a hospital embraced in darkness. It's very creepy. A morgue is located deep within this hospital. A morgue where Dr. Frankenstein could snatch parts for his experiments. Or where Mr Lector would feel like a kid in a candy store. A room filled with bodies. Lots of bodies or parts! The only rule is: NO "LIVING" PEOPLE.
The BG must have a place/ or places for a character to walk. No living characters allowed. This is a BG Blitz not a cutscene blitz. The resolutions are 320*200 or 640*400. The coulors are free of choice.
Godspeed to you all.

are we suposed to create a background, using this information?
yes.
No, he just wanted to describe what a morgue can look like

Mouse read the fricking instructions that are stickied in this forum. I wrote them, the least you could do is read them
Nice topic. I would participate if I had any semblance of artistic ability.
Also, shouldn't this go to 20th?
2 weeks = 14 days, 6+14 = 20, not 30? :)
Ugh. I appologize in advance for this. I'm not sure what I was thinking... :-\

Oooh, dawn of the levitating morgue beds! :D
This is a great theme :).
I believe this is my first entry in the Blitz.
Not many corpses, but if you look carefully there's a hand-in-a-jar somewhere in the picture. There is also a fair amount of blood.

Seriouly, I can do without, but the drawing didn't look atmospheric.
Awesome, Yoke!

Keep working guys. My intension was to give three weeks. Some of you may think it's too long. But I don't. Nine more days to go.
when i tried to put up a .bmp in the MS Paint game thread it didn't work and I got a message saying not to use .bmp format. I noticed these are .bmps, so i take it, it's a thread specific thing?
none of these are .bmps, the entries so far have been .png and .jpg
ah, ok. for some reason my comp was recognizing them as .bmp's. I'll go with .png then. thanks.
well,....this is exactly in between the two suggested resolutions.Ã, if it disqualifies me, please say something and I'll change the resolution.
---<edit>--- image replaced. see below.

Neutron, I have no problem with the resolution what so ever. But since the rules are carved in stone some may find it very unsuitable not asking you to change it. Please, for your own good, change it.
Ok I'll do a full size jpeg render. I just wanted to keep the image mostly intact without having a ridiculous file size. Thanks for replying.
Here's the full size jpg render. It actually came out really well,....I didn't notice any significant artifacts at all.

If you set the quality to 100, there will be few or no artifacts. If you use a PNG there will be no artifacts no matter what the compression though.
Good render, Modron.
thanks shbaz, will you be submitting an entry? it would be cool to compete against you in two forums at once. 8)
Let's cast our votes....
and my VOTE goes to:
YOke
Pure "point and click"-art... and I like that you use the low resolution..
Why didn't more people enter the contest? The theme was awesome. Too bad. Lack of time I guess...
Anyways, my vote goes to YOke. NICE one.
my vote also goes to YOke.
Thanks for all positive comments so far! :)
My vote goes to Neutron. Nicely rendered.
I vote yoke too, clueless' was very good but i think it needs a bit more cleaning up.
my vote goes to YOke
I've always dug his style of BGs.

And the winner is...
...YOke.
Wahoo!!! Thank you everyone! I'll be back with a new theme as soon as I finish celebrating! :D
