[sidenote] Calvin and Hobbes is the best. Pessi, I'm sure, agrees. [/sidenote]
I'll definitly be entering this one. Great topic.
Yo loominus, i think its kind of unfair making the compitition open to hi-res and lo-res backrounds. What makes a great LO-RES backround is differant from what makes a great HI-RES backround. Its your call, i just think it makes it a wee bit to0 open ended. I LOVE the theme though...Go Tracer Bullet! ;D

Oh yeah! If you haven't read Calvin and Hobbes, you haven't really read a newspaper comic.

It's a San Francisco type alley. For those of you unfamiliar with the city, there's an extreme hill at the far end of the street, hence it looks like it leads to open sky.
Not really where I would like it, but it'll do for the deadline.
Anyone else planning on entering?
Aren't BG Blitzs usually two weeks? I think people tend to enter more in the second week, though I may be mistaken......
[less subtle hint] extend the deadline [/less subtle hint]
Oh. Deadline extended.

Of course I love Calvin and Hobbes. Tracer Bullet there was put in there from a book. I didn't trace it, but the pose isn't mine. And fans of the series may well know whose eyes are peering back at Tracer from the alleyway.
I am sorry I didn't get to spend more time on this blitz. I had other entries I had sketched up, even this from a different view. I also know that sprites, such as Calvin here don't belong in background blitzes... well, then it's part of a cutscene.
i guess the person over there is a statue :p
Well, time to vote.
i hope I'm not too late. It's not really a bg, but i hope it counts.

sorry guys, but i have to vote for Seleceus
I like your Bg Scummbuddy but that person over there shouldn't be there :-/
i would vote for you'r BG if that person wouldn't be there :-/
Zooty's bg leads such a great atmosphere that i'm going to vote for him. But if doesnt count then i say Scummy for a really unique style.
Seleceus.
i vote scummy.
mainly becuse of the dude in the hat.
zooty's (if it counts)
Need another vote to break the tie and get on with the next one.
Alright, then.
Scummbuddy gets mine.
I vote Zooty.
I'll vote for Zooty's mainly because I KNOW what that bg he did is from >:)
I'm confused now. I didn't set up a new one, even though I saw this post was locked and possibly done with. I don't mind who wins, as they all were great in their own way. Is it up to Loom if this is over, then? Fine by me.
That was probably me or one of the other mods locking the topic, assuming the winner had already been decided. Hurry up, you're 5 days late!
Zooty is the winner, i believe. Al_ninio started the confusion by voting scumm, which evened his score to 2, then zooty got two more votes so he is leading with a 4 to everyones elses 2. i think.
Ok, Zooty is the winner then.
Good work, Zooty. Get a new one up and running now.
