Since Buloght withdrew his coolly crafted sprite (had mushroom and flashlight illumination!), I'll announce the winners with a slight delay.

The first prize goes to SpacePirateCaine. Congratulations, mate! I can really see you dressed like that. heh. Outstanding ilumination and cavey palette choice.

For second place I elect Krysis. I like the whole "insect buster" look on your outfit and how you managed to get the sprite to really look like you even though it's cartoon styled. That's pretty hard to do.

Third place goes to space boy, although you didn't really post your pic, it's a damn nice sprite. Pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking when I was pixeling that cave.

Further comments:
ProgZ: Although I love your sprite, but it seems more like an interface/diagram, not an usable character sprite. Only reason it didn't make it to the podium. I'm also very happy with the whole "chapter" of my story you've written. Nice job!

I've stretched the deadline hoping Darth would use his reserved spot. Didn't happen...  :'(

IMHO this was one heck of a sprite jam. I miss it already. So many cool entries.
I must admit I've saved them all to my hard drive.

I took your 'must design body armor and pixel gun' rule literally and showed closeups of their construction for that reason.  There was a sprite guy in there, but oh well.
