Title: Colouring Ball: June 4 - June18 (Window) [CONTEST COMPLETE]
Post by: Xellie on Fri 04/06/2010 07:47:16
The New Coloring ball Comp!

Window

Fill these panes. You can decide whether we are outside looking in or inside looking out. Do all the panes even look out or in to the same reality? You may decide it is not a window at all but something completely different... Be creative, anything goes!

Rules:

- No color restrictions
- Stay inside the lines, the black outlines must stay intact. Inside the white areas, go wild!
- Pixel art is a must!
- Have fun, any and every entry is welcome!

This was a nice little break for me to try out some more interesting palettes. I have also never really done any natural environments before, but I like the result quite a lot.

These are all really great entries! Yours is especially beautiful Ilyich=)

Are we allowed to submit multiple entries? I have quite a few ideas i'm working on.. first attempt at pixel art tho so they're equally as bad as each other=S

Sunflowers, nice... cats, pretty go- HOLY SHIT MARIO KART. You sir, win as many internets as I have, which at the moment, is slightly less than none.

lol, thanks=) I spent the most time on that one, so if I had to pick one, that'd be it. Based it on actual in-game footage too=)

Yup, great entries everyone. I especially like your tree of seasons one Ilyich, followed closely by Darius' day/night scene.

Wow, awesome awesome participation!

The contest is now closed unfortunately, so any entries yet undone will not be considered for voting.

Since there are SO many excellent entries, I want to throw it out there for your consideration: I want to keep the judging fair, and not just limited to my personal taste. So how about this one time we make this a voting session, like for example the sprite jam comp? I.e. you all can vote for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The coloring ball is not usually handled this  way, the contest host (me) just picks a winner, end of story).

I don't mind doing it on my own, but I feel that to be fair to the wide variety and number of entrants, this would truly be a better way to handle it...

Your thoughts? Any MOD who wants to beat me over the head is also welcome to do that, of course.  :-\

I'm perfectly happy to let you decide the winner, but if you want everyone to vote for 1/2/3rd, i'll  happily go along with that too=) Lol, sorry, not much help!

Incase we do go with votes, mine would be:

1st - Ilyich (Seasons one - absolutely beautiful)
2nd - Darius (the two opposites work really well - i'm equal parts happy and scared)
3rd - Jim (brilliant idea and Sonic brings back many fond memories)
Honorable mention - Sinsin (hilarious)
