I don't know if it also happens in other countries, but the few barrel organists we still see around here always have a parrot, a parakeet or a cockatiel that works as a "fortune teller": it gets a little piece of paper in which is written a "prophecy" and lucky numbers for lottery - as in fortune cookies.
