Hi there,
I'll be trying something different here, since it is a jolly busy time for a lot of us, that one hour at Saturday eve might not do it. The impromptu hourgames might be a solution but also a sad fact if you've just missed them.
Therefore something novel:
- you choose your own moment,
- use a web form to say you're ready for it,
- and submit your game to another form when you're done.
How convenient!
This one is especially for you Aussies and others to whom the regular time is rather inconvenient or downright sleep depriving. ;D
The wonderful journey starts Here! (http://goo.gl/6eQbx)
down to the boilerplate:
WHAT?
Make a GAME in an HOUR, with a THEME.
WHEN?
Whenever you choose but before Saturday the 25th (hey that's Christmas :D) 20:00 BST
WHERE?
From this web form (http://goo.gl/6eQbx) on to where ever you bring it!
WHO?
YOU, not ME. I'm setting the THEME.
WHY?
For FUN and the FUTURE including the future of fun or FUNTURE.
WHORE?
Please CAMWHORE or BLOG.
WEB?
TerranRich's SHUTUPLOAD (http://www.shutupload.com/).
WHEE!
- Wyz
PS.
Since this is experimental things might not work as planned, but you can always pm me. Further more I will trust you play it fair, if not then this kind of competition does not work.
So I can pick my own theme? ???
Great idea Wyz!

Armageddon, click on the conveniently placel link in Wyz's post and you'll get detailed instructions!
Wyz, that's a very convenient method you thought of here!!
Oh wow, i may actually have the time to enter future Hour games now! Good job Wyz.
That's really a very good idea. Makes the competition much more accessible.
I can't personally join these for another couple of months but after that I might have a chance, so keep 'em going!
Wyz, this is a brilliant idea :D
I'll definately join this! And I hope that this will be the normal procedure from now on :)
Thanks! :D
Well It is up to the next host, but the forms are reusable. ;)
I'll keep you updated to how many entries there are: none so far.
I think the idea is fantastic, but before christmas I have no time for it at all :(
Maybe you could give an extension?
I'd enter, but what with the HIB, Soft-Body physics and fluid dynamics, I'm a little snowed under! :P
Fantastic idea, though!
Excellent idea! And nicely executed!
As others have said, not much time for it before Christmas though...
I could extend the deadline, but there also needs to be enough time for the voting to take place. What sounds reasonable: Extension till Monday, next Saturday, or no extension and just join the next Hourgame (which could also be in this form)?
BTW. Duals did you enter or did you drop out? If so was it because the theme was too lame? If so I'll think of something better ;D

I did enter, but well, I had no idea what to make off the theme. No idea. ;)
I've changed the theme a bit, and reset the forms. (note: noone submitted to its still fair)
Just submitted my entry :D Let me know if I did something wrong.
Hope not to be the only entrant you guys ;)
You're not alone, I just submitted mine.
Also, awesome idea, Wyz!
Well, this has had an extra day, it's time to wrap things up :D
We have two entries! Thank guys for your entry!
The theme was: Vegetables/vegetarians
The hunt for the carrot
by Bulbapuck in 1:21
A game about a carrot, and a wand :D
Download! (http://shutupload.com/dl/f7f7b53fd3fa/)
Save The Cow
by tzachs in 1:04
Save the cow from the carnivores!
Arrows to move cow, Space to Moo!
Download! (http://www.filefront.com/17702940/SaveTheCow.zip)
Let's play the games and cast our votes! :D
(I'll close the poll Saturday)
Save the cow, eat a vegetarian!
Ouch, I didn't include the music file. The music was awful anyway :P
If I'm allowed to vote I vote tzachs for obvious reasons. Great game :) My score so far: 380
Got the carrot (and killed the monstosity), yay!
That was funny :)
After much deliberation, I decided to give my vote to Bulbapuck! :D
Oh, and my highscore so far is 620 :P
And wonkyth, please don't eat me... :'(
Ha, I managed to use 4 different emoticons in one post! :o

Bulba's got the best punch lines, but I am impressed by the minigame! One for tzachs!
(http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q53/JustLedZep/score.png) And my spacebar is on the wasted side of life :P
Great mini-game tzachs.
Bulba or anyone I need someone to upload Bulbapuck's entry to mediafire if it's possible, cause I can't download it. :-\
Not quite sure how to say this, but for some reason, the cow doesn't move. It'll change direction when I press the arrow keys, but it won't actually move...
@duals: 6280 :o, I'll beat you, if it's the last thing I'll do... As for the link: http://www.mediafire.com/?6xi4hz26fqlhp18 (http://www.mediafire.com/?6xi4hz26fqlhp18) (will probably expire soon as I have no account.)
@GuyLaDouche: I don't think it's supposed to.

Use arrows to face fork, and spacebar to destroy it with your mightymoo(TM).
Now, I'm really stuck. I've finished both entries. The mini-game is addictive. And Bulbapuck's entry is just wicked!!
So I vote for Bulbatzachs!
@Bulbapuck: 1520 points, holy cow! :o
@Dualnames: 6280 points, holy freaking cow! :o :o :o
I don't understand how this is even possible, it should be so fast at this point that you shouldn't even see the forks... you are god.
@GuyLaDouch: Yep, what bicliotti said, you can't actually move the cow, only rotate it (this is exactly how cows move in real life).
@bicliotti: Glad you're impressed :)
I'm toying with the idea of making it into a proper game, and if I'll choose to do so, I will probably steal your mightymoo(TM) and put it in the game, if it's ok with you (with credit of course).

Now I'm totally confused :o
So I got an internet-connection to a parallel-universum - that's cool 8)
... and therefore (and also because of the nice idea about this theme) my vote goes (from earth) to tzachs (from ...?...)
Tabata, if you want to know what planet I'm coming from, you can maybe figure it out by looking at my last name (http://www.forward.com/articles/9794/)...
Aah - thx! That explains a lot ;)
I'm proud to know someone „of your kind“ :D
Your mightymoo(TM) is awesome!
Well, it's about time to wrap this up!
The good people of the forums have spoken: congratulations for tzachs!
A very fine game with a pointy twist ;D
Thanks everybody for playing the games, and Bulbapuck for a worthy runner up (that floor line really cracked me up ;D)
Your turn tzachs! :D (if you want the have a copy of the forms, let me know)
Congratulations tzachs :D
Thank you! :D
And Wyz, for sure I want a copy of the forms.
They're in your mail! :D
