Puzzle Time: Out of Sight, Out of Mind!

Rules: Every week a post will be made with a list of items and a scenario. Using your wit and skill find a way to complete the scenario with the items provided. You can only use a set number of items of your own choice. When I say use your skill, use it.

Voting: After the week, voting shall commence!

What if I win?: The winner chooses the next scenario and list of items. Plus a slice of digital pie. Or digital cookies. Or something more digitally wholesome, like a digital apple.

Scenario: You can't see a thing, and it's driving you crazy! This could be because of excessive smoke, a blindfold, damage to your eyes, a darkening spell cast by an evil wizard, or whatever. Obviously this means you can't use the look command. You must vent your angry vengeful feelings at whoever is the cause of this blindness, then find some way to reverse the effect (in that order).

Items: You must use at least four of the items listed below, and half of those must be found and picked up somewhere (as opposed to being in your inventory from the beginning). Additionally, you may use up to three items of your own choice.
A sponge
A paperclip
A fresh, juicy orange
A stepladder
A book
Salt
A crescent-shaped amulet
A squirrel
Tulip seeds
A red herring
A spork
An equilateral triangle
A frisbee
A magnifying glass
and/or pepperoni.

Special: You must meet at least one well-known character from another game, or movie, or book, or tv-show.

sorry to bump myself, but did I do something wrong here? is the entry too difficult? have people grown tired of Puzzle Time contests? or something?

Drop down and feel the bedside.
Go under the bed, just to find Homer Simpson finding his book.
Feel the floor, just to find a book.
The book is in braille and you know braille so you read it.
"....This magic spell that turns everyone blind can only be reversed with the magic of the crescent-shaped amulet.....but you turn blind if the crescent-shaped amulet is in the wrong hands (the evil person and another desired person whom he picks will not be affected)....."
Get out the bed.
You hear snoring, from the top of the bed.
He sounds evil.
You recognize the voice just to hear Hushleer (A very dark and evil sorcerer)
Feel the side of the bed just to find a red herring.
You know that he cannot be hit with it when he is sleeping or when he expects you to hit him with it unless he is distracted.
You discover that it is morning this time.
You suddenly yells to his slave, "Get me a glass of water now!".
You feel afraid so you hide under the bed.
The slave puts a glass of water on the bed but you notice that the sorcerer did not touch the glass of water (the bed did not move a bit, Hushleer shakes the bed everytime he performs magic on it).
You feel the floor again, just to find a packet of salt.
You quietly pour salt in his glass.
He drinks it, just to be surprised.
He yells to his slave,"There's salt in my water!" and hit him with the red herring at the moment he was yelling.
He falls to the bed that squeaked the bed so much, you couldn't help, but hear it.
You feel his chest just to find the crescent-shaped amulet and you take it off him and you wear it.
You suddenly can see, but Homer Simpson suddenly comes to you, says, "Why you little!",and squeezes your neck just to realize that you're his son, Bart Simpson.
You know why because you took his book.
He drives you back home and you continue your crazy things you do everyday.
The End.
