Those are great entries. I'll count both, though I like the lizard more  :), so he is the one to beat.

The sprite was done for a sprite jam a long time ago, and (MI2 spoiler)
Spoiler

it's supposed to be guybrush's brother in lechuck disguise.

I'm not sure if it's allowed to enter an old sprite to a competition. If it isn't allowed, this is not an entry.

Actually i'm pretty sure it isn't allowed, i'm just glad i got a chance to use this cheesy guy again.

Heh, that Geordi costume is pretty cool, but his visor and uniform are gold, not green.  :D

That Nixon one is good too. :)

Hello!

Now you can see what happened if Guybrush couldn't prove himself to old pirates that he is ready to become a real pirate. So he had to find another job.
Lucky for him he was able to go to Disneyland and work there. And his work is to hand out booklets.

17 Colours

ok this is my character, he is a little man in a some sort of cat costume. I used 16 different colours(do you think it was too much for such a small picture?)

BTW, I am planning to use him in my game, but I don`t really know do I make it.

I made a character of Fernando from Prison Break. (Scofields cell mate)

Real Name : Amaury Nolasco
Role: Fernando Sucre in Prison Beak

After escaping fromt FoxRiver Fernando decided that no one will take notice of a running mario.
Sadly after numerous requests for autographs and forgetting to put on the fake moustach the
desquise didnt work that well... I guess Luigi costume would of drawn less attention ;)

Esterlin, is that a Rincewind paintover? Progzmax is the best artist because he does his own work. You'll see, you will improve quicker that way.

I guess I will be disqualified for using an old sprite but this one just fits so perfectly here, I had to post it.

It says right in his post that it is, Plus the competition is costumes the the point is the costume not the person in it.

The point is drawing original sprites (not original characters). You can easily draw rincewind in your own style with a costume. The competition never said paint overs. Sprite jams never recommend that.  He didn't say he did a paint over, he just said he did rincewind.

For the love of heebeegeebee
1 it is not a direct use of the drawing specified in your screenshot
2 its original and themed
3 complies with the rules
4 Don't try swaying the decision of the judge by brown licking
Ã,  Ã,  Saying ProgmaÃ,  is the best artist is not appropriate Everyone has their own unique style so keep your brown comments hidden please maybe in a spoiler bar so people have the choice whether they have to read it or not.

For the love of whatever
1 it is direct use, be it paint over or direct copying by putting the sprites next to his and copying lines
2 it's unoriginal sprite/drawing (whether it's existing character doesn't matter, people do existing characters all the time) and yes it is themed
3 copying is not in the rules, originality of drawing is
4. progz is the best, plus he didn't enter, and I praise the best since they deserve it. I am not his buddy nor would I ever make a game with him or even talk to him

All the sprites were great, especially the sir b one, almost won  :) but I felt it would be unethical of me to reward that one with first place  ;D

The results are ...

(http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/3691/goldlemonzu2.gif) Winner: Penguin with his lizard/crocodile

(http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/3624/silverpinegc8.gif) 2nd: Tocsik

(http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/679/broonzebananaheadoh7.gif) 3rd: Clip and Afflict

You each get a MI cannibal trophy (lemon, pine-apple and banana, if it doesn't look like them or you don't don't like it you can make your own, I don't mind)

[edit] OOPs, it is not 18th yet, crap just realised, well I guess seven days is long enough, I'll move down the date to today  :-[

[edit] Forgot to say: Mr_frisby . that is darn amazing, you shoulda made a sprite of it  :'(
[edit] tomas Yours rocked too, I wasn't sure if I could allow it, but it is an awesome sprite. Same goes to you oneway Awesome entry.

I'd be stunned too if someone popped his head through my stomach and called me a "costume" ;>.

and yay ! that trophy will look handsome on my virtual shelf, even though if Mr_Frisby had made either of his drewdings into one sprite he'd be the one with it... but I'm not complaining  ;).

New competition coming up  :).
