Idea: nihilyst - It wasn't an easy choice...but I like these flying islands and the background story.
Atmosphere: Tier - Tier, cuestaluis and nihilyst used a similar colour-style to evoke the 'ruined' atmosphere. Maybe it's because I saw Tier's entry first, but somehow it pulled me in just a little bit more than the others.
Design: nihilyst - The fact that each of the flying islands has a unique design gives the piece a well thought out look.
Composition: cuestaluis - the main object of interest (the ruins) is nicely off center. Colour of the fire/smoke changes towards the edge of the image so people won't be lead out of the image. The gate works well as too.
Functionality IndieBoy - It's clean, there is a clear path for the player, it's not too dark for a game...although animating the smoke will be quite annoying.
Technique: nihilyst - making good use of light and dark and the atmospheric. What it lacks in details, it extensively makes up in other technical properties.
