Title: Sprite Jamming 1.19-26.06
Post by: big brother on Thu 19/01/2006 15:31:23
This week's topic:

The Well-Dressed Villain

It may sound cliche, but there are many possibilities. Here are a few examples of totally different executions of this theme:

Snidely Whiplash!

The Kingpin!

Vice!

Random bulldog on the internet!

Basically, be as creative as you want.

I hope it don't have to be an original character, because I just spent hours on this sprite:

Dick Dastardly, head of the Vulture Squadron. I've always adored his stylish purple coat.

20 colors. 14 if you don't count the medal.  :P

Nice entries, guys. Good luck to all of you.

This was a good competition, but it must end.

The Ivy, I liked your simple execution, although it's doesn't exactly strike me as villainous.
Buloght, I liked your idea, and a pirate captain makes an admirable antagonist.
Hillybilly, a non-original adversary was indeed welcome. Good job with the rendering!
Seaduck, your idea was good, too. It's been a while since I've thought about Fat Cat. Oh man, the times we've had.

But ultimately, Progzmax's entry wins this. It's an excellent interpretation of a classic villain -- such an elegant protrayal of the Big Bad Wolf. (Although for a game sprite, he'd probably lose the dithering.) The color contrast is particularly striking. Congratulations!
