Title: The AGS Coloring Ball: 23/6/06-30/6/06
Post by: PsychicHeart on Fri 23/06/2006 12:45:38
THE AGS COLORING BALL

So, what's the deal?
An image is supplied, and entrants color. A general theme is given, but it is optional. The winner hosts the next AGS Coloring Ball.

This week's theme: Gothic.
Interpret it how you wish, be it in the skin-splittin' lifestyle of generation Y or the church style.

This week's sprite(s):

I have provided an example:

Cheers,
Fluke

So why don't we try with a better sprite:

If Fluke is ok with that though...

If Krysis' sprite is allowed, here my entry:

With spooky crimson background!

If only colouring had been this exciting in Kindergarden...I think they might have sent Mordalles to the principal's though. ;)

I think there is a decent contest somewhere in this thread, so I've done a little pruning to keep it on track. I don't mean to cause offence to anyone whose posts I've removed. Your objections to the original sprite were fair, but with Krysis's contribution I'd like to see this contest given a chance.

And on that note, American Gothic:

EDIT: I have changed the template a bit too much for it to count as an entry.

Zooty: the template needn't be a blank sprite. It could have been a backdrop or any other kind of image.

so, is this competition a sprite jam with a template instead of a theme?

Yeah, it would be better if this was just a remake/painover contest on templates without any themes. Like zoot is saying, it's flying a bit too close to the Sprite Jam.

Okay, times up.
Comments:
HillBilly: You're...you're kidding right?
Pablo: Nice use of "camp" effect.
ManicMatt: w00t.
MashPotato: Nice! Especially the purple-ish color you managed to get.
KhrisMUC: So that's where my lawnmower went..!
Mordalles: Fan-fuckin-tastic.
Ali: It may have deviated a bit from the template, but hell if it isn't cool.
SergioCornaga: I like it.
Mad: This...now this is just awesome.
Evil: Jumpsuits made cool again.
Yickle: Good! One question though, what's that thing he is holding?

But, there can only be one winner(and two runner-ups) and the winners of the first AGS Colouring Ball ARE!!

1st Place:Evil
2nd Place: Mad
3rd Place: MashPotato

It was a hard decision to make, a lot of the serious ones were fabulous. Evil is in charge of the next one which should start up in a week-2 weeks.

Well, that's it.
Evil, if there's anything you want to ask, don't hesitate to PM me about it.
Cheers and thanks for making this work,
Fluke.

Hah, as great as this is, I ment my sprite as a joke. There are a lot of great sprites here and I'd like to pass this to the second place winner, Mad.

Hope that's ok! :D

Yay!!

*Mad leaps drooling onto the scraps left behind

Okey, I'll take over, just need to come up with a good simple sprite now...

And call me a dunderhead or numbscull (insert insult of liking here), but when should this start up again - in a week from now for a week running?
