Title: Tune Contest: 28/04/06 - 05/05/06 Winner announced
Post by: Nikolas on Fri 28/04/2006 12:28:24
Okay here is your scene (taken from Mr. Colosals entry on an earlier animation comp, without his permission, but I hope he won't mind).

Write a short track for this scene!

If you want you can extend the time limits (cause the animation is rather short), and you won't be judged on the timing. But sync issues could be considered as bonuses.

I hope you'll enjoy it!

A four-headed monkey and a wistle.  :P

You get to host the next one... Don't get greedy.

Boyd: It's perfect!

It didn't occure to me, to give the animation file, also as a movie click for syncing, but you did that already.

If you can (and want to), maybe you could post the movie clip without the music, so that other people can use it and also mention how you transformed it so that other poeple can post it as a movie clip, or video file, or whatever...

Note: Anything goes. You don't necessarily need to post a movie clip! Just write music for that scene.

to make the movie file all i did was load the original animation into Animation Shop then export it as a 30fps uncompressed AVI (which is 32mb).
fortunately the app i use to make music (Fruity Studio 6) has video playback so i could get the music in time with the action (cool edit pro 2 can also play video in the track edit view), then i just exported the music track as a wav, loaded up Video Studio 8 and combined the two together.
if anyone does want the video track without music i've put it up at http://www.lacksawesome.com/assassin.wmv

I adjusted the last few frames so you can actually see him jump out of the hole. Here's my entry http://media.putfile.com/Psych0F0x---Assassin

i meant to fix that jump problem (think it had something to do with one of the frame's delay being set to 0), nice entry.
this is turning into more of a soundtrack/score contest than tune :P
probably not a bad idea for a comp that actually...

Yes it is turning out of a tune contest... Maybe I should rename the thread title...

But since I already have 2 entries I'm more than happy and I"m sure (hope actually )that more people will join.

After all most games have cutscenes and it is useful to be able to write music for a cutscene like this ofr example. Or practise this skill...

Great entired both!

Well done guys!

Ok.

Today is the date!

Due to technical issues (try to find the thread in the gen gen) I'm not sure that I'll be around later on. I hope I will...

But anyway you still have something like 16 hours.

Anyone else interested in taking part?
