Title: Bovine By-product
Post by: Chicken64 on Sat 04/04/2009 05:45:28
Hi
This is my first AGS game. Its a medium sized game where in you play the role of a piece of cheese who has accidentally been eaten by a cow. Find your way out before being digested by navigating through stomachs, intestines, nerves and what not. Constructive criticisms would be encouraged. I am still thinking of a better name

Sounds disgusting so I think I'll give  it a go.  ;D
Let you know later what it was like in there...

Spoiler
Can't get the gas bubble: I click on it, and nothing happens. Without it, I can't get through the exit.

There is but... you'll walk into a dead end eventually once you've reached the intestine (or is there a way back from there?). The plastic bag warns you already... ;-)

My remarks about the game:

- Great idea, nice graphics, music is ok (bit too carnavalesque) but...
- The cursors aren't always visible. Some cursors are still default which is a shame.
- Exits, hotspots and objects are not always clear to see which makes it more of a pixelhunt/click-where-you-can game.
- Dialogs (if you can call it that) are in one colour so who says what?
- I expected a bit more info about the digestive system of the cow. A great way to educate people while playing.
- Debug mode is still on.
- Puzzles are repetetive.
Spoiler
A lot can be solved with the cells.

Overall well done but there's room for improvement. The concept is great.

Note:
Spoiler
To solve the issue as depicted in
(http://chicken64.fileave.com/bb3.bmp),
you should click to the right next to the worm, not on....

There IS a way from the intestine.
Spoiler
You should make a stick by combining two molecules, then turn it into a match, use the glass to get beer from the bottle, give it to the monster and then lit the beer to destroy the monster. Then walk through the nerves and you'll get to the exit. From here you can return to the first screen.

You're right. There is. As I said earlier, exits are very hard to find...  ;D
BTW, when you return to the plastic bag, there's also the green thing that covered the hole two screens further but now stuck to the ceiling...  ::)

What did you expect? Flowers? :=
I've always wanted to make a game in which you can travel through the human body (not only stomach). A virus or bacterria maybe. :)

This really made my day. I loved the sick ending, and the perspective (storytelling-wise) is really original.
