Go to this site to see my game, Dragonslash.
Dragonslash was made with only images from paint.
I hope you enjoy this game. Please leave you comments.

I don't see nothing in the site mate. sorry

BTW, anyone knows what this game is about? Virus, Spyware? porn? ordinary game about spies? spiders? terros? humour? anything else?

Get the idea ;) I would like to know what I'm entering before I start downloading. Even if it's free (which we all appreciate in this community) we need to know some more info.

Hope to get that info soon.

when you go to the site, http://neeldragonz.bizhat.com/, click on 'Da site' and you will get something with a dog picture on it. Click on the 'Dragonslash' link.

The game is about a quest to find great dragon jewels. I rate it PG or 12A at the most.

A) first of all, put the title of the game in this threads subject title.

B) Sell us your game. I'm not talking about money. I'm talking about conveying to us your idea; your game. Why should we want to play it? Post us some screenshots.

This thread should read like the back of a fictional box art for this game, if it were to be actually sold in stores.

Follow this thread as an example:
http://americangirlscouts.org/bbc.com/yabb/index.php?topic=21333.0

Doing so will help out you and your game immensely. I already know I'm not going to download your game when I know nothing about it, nor anything about you.

*slaps his forehead*

Are you not listening to their advice?

Having the images made in paint? Wow, that's totally unheard of!   ::)

I clicked on your link "DA SITE" and I was asked if I wish to download something.

Erm.. that won't work, we can't see pictures on your hard drive. You need to upload them to the internet first, like with photobucket. (Google it)

Also, I don't know what the second file is, but in one of your attempts you linked to the .exe. file, which is a program, not a picture.

Please note, you can MODIFY your previous posts, so if you make a mistake, you can rectify it. (And double posting is frowned upon)

As ManicMatt said; it is not possible for us to reach the files that are in your harddrive.

If you want us to see them; then you have to UPLOAD them (you know what 'upload' means, do you?).

Edit: I give up, too.

I actually tried the file in that server.

Have no idea what format it is , and nor does Windows XP. :-/

I think that this game is even shorter than the masterpiece "Are we there yet?", or the "I want to take a pie"... I might even vote for the game on the awards later on... ;)

It's a Microsoft Works® text document with a picture of gray hound dogs and a link to a C:\ drive. So it only works for the guy who made the game (which is Dragonslash by Prashant Mahendran).

Oh man! I'm beginning to think this game really IS made from images of paint, AND NOTHING ELSE!

Well Prashant, if hiring a hacker to access your hard drive and getting the files (And then deleting them all if my hacker is evil) then so be it! There's a point there somewhere, and that is to be glad we can't access your hard drive, for people would do harm to it.

Prashant,

1. You left debug mode on
2. That walkcycle is up there with yodaman's!
3. I can talk to the guy with the blue spotty robe who says to collect jewels, but I can't leave the room...
4. Given the graphic quality, why is it necessary to use 800x600 resolution?

Man, this ranks right up there with that "Phyco" (sic) game, what was it... "Trapped With Hell" or something? That was classic. Where is that thread?
Title: Re: My game is here.
Post by: ManicMatt on Tue 24/10/2006 17:35:19
SSH, "walk" to the furthest left of the first screen to go into the next room. What, how could you not know? Ah right, there was no indication to the player. Perhaps a door or an arrow or something Prashant?

The speech can't be skipped, which is annoying as I am a fast reader, so I'm left waiting for the speech to skip itself.

I got as far as finding a key that will inevitably unlock that locked door, but my interest wained.

get 'immersed' in the game. Get juiced up by the colour.Ã,  Find the real adventure in it. Find the mystery...Get into the game!

Well, here's the problem... that's not going to happen. Ã, I know that everyone has come off as harsh, but in honesty, they speak wisdom. Ã, Don't take any of this personally.

You're excited about the world that you've created. Ã, That much is obvious. Ã, Your excitement isn't enough to sell the idea to us, though. Ã, You speak of Paint graphics as if the idea is revolutionary; as if it's your selling point. Ã, Well, the brutal truth is that it's hardly that.

Paint is the program that people whip out when they want to crank out a picture of something without investing anything in it. Ã, See the MSPaint game in the Competitions forum... it says it all.

Nothing about this game matches your enthusiasm here on the forum. Ã, That main character should be the link between us and the world, but the truth is that it's just too generic and uninspired design-wise to make us care about how many dragon jewels we can find. Ã, I realize that character design is not easy, but tell the truth... did you spend more than ten minutes on that drawing and the walk cycle combined?

Rushing your ideas out of your head past your hands so quickly will not do them any service. Ã, I'm sorry... that's just how it is.

Heh. This is amusing.

A segue however: in America "whatever" is something of an insult I am told. In Australia, and possibly places elsewhere it means a kind of passive, go-with-the-flow type remark like neelhound intended.

There. Resume humour....... now!

how could i go on now?

thanx to point this out, i should now fix it before posting again....Otherwise i will get scolded.

I got kinda busted on the forum some years ago for being a faker, some said that my english was too perfect for a french person, and consequently i would have lied about everything i had been saying.

Now, you know i'm french for real. And this is not today when it will change!

But about the whatever thing. Even with my broken english, i got the feeling Neelhound's "whatever" is not misused and not to be upset about.

Don't take offence when i said that, your english is good, but it was just that the words weren't in a natural order, which confused Skyfire. (I don't know how though)

I used to be able to order drinks and meals in french, from learning it at school, but I've been to France about twice since then and have lost the words.. I think some of it is still in my head somewhere.. whenever I hear french things ring a bell but they're distant.

And thus discouraging all those people that need to muck around before they go on to making great games? People need to learn the ropes, skyfire.

I haven't said anything about this game so far because it's so obviously a first game. I don't think much of neelhound's behaviour on this thread, especially the first page, but as a game maker I can't judge him by his very first game. Everyone has made crappy first games. Some people get excited and post them and get criticism that helps them move on to greatness. Some just squirrel it away and learn for themselves. Either way is good.

I have no qualm at all with "11 year old pimping paint images", as you put it, regardless of whether that is the case here or not. Let's face this, this whole board and this whole site is like a big artist's studio. People come in, people try things out, people finish their works. Some are great, some are crappy, some people give up soon and some keep on going until they achieve greatness, some come with greatness and leave with nothing... it's just the way it is. And first games, like first paintings and first novels and first sculptures and whatever, are bound not to be as good. But HEAVEN FORBID the artist be daunted by the tools. Heaven forbid.

Anyway, neelhound said he's made the player character walk faster. See? He's already learned something important. That's the whole point of first games.

I don't have to enjoy a game to know it's important that somebody spent the time on it and probably learnt from it. Skyfire's comment is typical, since he'll say anything to see another flame war come to fruition, but it inherently wrong.

Congrats on your first game, neelhound! May you make more and may they improve with each and every single one of them :)

Last time I hear,d skyfire was "banned" (although I know that CJ is against banning and all that... dunno what's true...). Either way skyfire hasn't shown up for days! Let's try to forget about this "kid"...

I'm pretty sure that I posted inthis thread about the game... :)
