Le Woltaire.
Looks great.... I just downloaded and will be playing shortly.... Congrats, on getting this finished....
Downloading now, I enjoyed Earl Bobby is looking for his Shoes, and I hope to enjoy this as it is much longer.
This game is so brilliant!!
Mensch, that Lula girl makes me want to become a golf player.
Great game! I've posted a review already, so I'm not going to say anything else here.
How do I get up the mountain? I'm stuck

Ask in this forum (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=29875).
Hi,
I've just finished the game, and let me say that it was not good....IT WAS ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!! Will there be some other episodes? When are you going to release them? I congratulate again, and, if I may say, I sometimes felt like I was playing a Mr. Bean game. :D
I've played for like 5 minutes and already after watching the intro I fell in love with this game! It just looks so awesome! :D
The only thing so far that bothers me is that every time I click on something, the cursor mode changes to walk mode. So for example to look at everything in the room, I'll have to switch to the look-mode every time I click somewhere. I find this somewhat annoying and would appreciate if this feature could be removed. :)
Will comment more after playing a longer while.

Have you tried to play the game with shortcuts?
When you want to look at many things try to hold your
finger on the "L-key" and click around with your mouse.
I thought its comfortable...
Other shortcuts are in the Manual.
I've finished the game as well and I have to admit:
This is one of the best AGS games I have ever played.
First I thought it's a joke game, when I read the title.
But already after I looked at the intro and wandered around a bit
I understood, that it's a well composed adventure.
I really couldn't find any errors in it.
Admirations from my side.
I hope, that you will make other quality games like this.
I'm enjoying this game - so much to do and explore!
However it crashed on me today - I've posted in the tech forum but, for your information:
---------------------------
Illegal exception

An exception 0xC0000005 occured in ACWIN.EXE at EIP = 0x00402423 ; program pointer is +5, ACI version 2.62.772, gtags (381,794)
AGS cannot continue, this exception was fatal. Please note down the numbers above, remember what you were doing at the time and notify CJ on the Tech forum.
Most versions of Windows allow you to press Ctrl+C now to copy this entire message to the clipboard for easy reporting.

Here's what I was doing at the time:
Spoiler
using the sugar shaker on the molehill
I don't know if this is related, but there seems to be another bug: when I went to save the game, I selected a previously saved game to overwrite, and the game hung. I was running the game in a window and had to close the window to quit the game. I reloaded the game I was going to overwrite and got the error when carrying out the above action.
Another bug, I think:
Spoiler
When you use an inventory item on the molehill, it is appears repeated several times across the screen.
I tried loading an earlier saved game. This time
Spoiler
I picked up the sugar shaker (using the "take" icon, not the plain "hand" icon) from my inventory and moved it over towards the molehill; even before I had had a chance to use it, the program crashed again.
The error is similar:
---------------------------
Illegal exception

An exception 0xC0000005 occured in ACWIN.EXE at EIP = 0x00402423 ; program pointer is +5, ACI version 2.62.772, gtags (379,794)
Thank you for bug reporting.
But I couldn't reproduce any of these bugs on my system.
They all seem to be related to the molehill somehow...
Maybe the savegame you are using to restore the game is somehow broken...
Could you try to reproduce one of the bugs constantly by restarting the game?
If you can, send me some screenshots of what happens via PM or email.
Besides of that: You don't need to use the hand or take icon on your inventory
just click on an item in any cursor mode you want and it is always taken.
OK, thanks for letting me know.
This looks rather interesting... ;D
Monsieur Le Woltaire,
I was wondering if Amazon is selling the Uiiiuiii-Song, but I couldn't find it. Maybe Earl Bobby could help me out?
As your golf buddy I have to say, that I liked the ironic details in your game (e.g. "Erlernen Sie diesen wunderbaren Sport") as well as the character animation, sounds and graphics. This was the funniest game I played in years. Keep up the good work!
Greetings
I'm not really enjoying this game, mostly because of the puzzles, but I just had to pop in and say that, despite not having a lot of fun with the game, I find the amount of work and detail gone into it remarkable, and most of all I find your choice of music bloody brilliant. Brilliant, ayuh. It's a pleasure to listen to, great choices.
EDIT - Also, I have to admit to a couple of chuckles. The humour in the game didn't particularly do anything for me, but I found myself surprised by a couple of situations - including the ending, which, I admit, is very good, possibly the only possible ending.
Spoiler
Which, unlike some other games I might mention *coughNightOfTheHermitcough* actually gives the player a sense of achievement, even though in the end he did NOT get his ball back AND managed to lose the new golf club!
I say again, I didn't not particularly enjoy *playing* the game, but - I hope this makes sense - I surely appreciated it, in many places.
EDIT 2 (after the reply posted below) - I have to say I'm particularly picky as regards puzzles, so maybe it's just me. I know for a fact plenty of people at the Hints and Tips thought it was hard but fair, and great. Also, I hate Wretched's puzzles, and some people love them. So it's ultimately a matter of opinion, which is why I said they prevented me from really enjoying the game - and left it at that, without expanding.
Overall, good on you for releasing it, it's a major step forward from EBLHShoes, and I darsay you can only get better. I really am looking forward to your next game.

I'm not really enjoying this game, mostly because of the puzzles...
I feel sorry for this...
I knew that some of the puzzles are quite absurd.
When I finished the game and showed it to some friends (actually non adventure players) they wondered if anybody could solve this kind of puzzles... They found it somehow childy and wondered why I spend my time making such a stuff.
That's why I thought for a while, if the game is worth a release.
But I know, that I will have to spend more time in puzzle developing for my next game...maybe a bit more rational and less quirky.
Hi Woltaire!
The puzzles are good and the game is excellent! I am still playing it and have a good laugh every now and then. Please don't abandon this road.
But I think I found a bug. If I work on the puzzles in a certain order, I get stuck. I restarted and just changed the order of a few actions and could continue. I got stuck here
Spoiler
no hotspot on Woody's car, so I could not make a slingshot
I did not try every possible route, so I do not know what action was responsible for this bug.
BTW: I hope to see more games like this.
Finished it!
Excellent, including the finale with the FAQ and the nice music. Rating: +++
The new beta is out ( v0.8 ).
Redownload it if you had the hotspot problem.
The hotspot bug that prevented some of you finishing the game is fixed.
You can import your old savegame into the new version.
Just reenter the parking lot and everything should work.
I apologize for this problem...
-
Thank you for a good laugh!
I finished the game.
It was very hard.
But I did it without looking into the hints section.
Some great ideas and great humour I think.
I just tried to make a talky version of the game.
I didn't have any voice actors so I tried to make all voices by myself.
But I think it's totally freaky what I did and trash in some way.
Things I did to make my voice sound different:
EARL BOBBY: Moved my nose and the micro to make the voice sound a bit quirky. Tried to talk a bit higher than normal.
TIGER WOODY: Tried to talk as serious and deep as I could. Mostly with open wided mouth.
GREENKEEPER: Smoked two ciggarres (I'm not a smoker) and stuffed some pieces of bread in my mouth. Tried to talk very deep.
MARY HANKINGFIRE: Talked as terrible and high as possible with a possibly aggressive note.
LULA HANKINGFIRE: Talked as high and sweet as possible. With some kind of lovely flair.
BARKEEPER: My normal voice.
BARON MUCKI: Tried to talk with an extreme German accent (southern Germany) and a bit deeper than normal.
BIMBO: Tried to simulate an African accent with my normal voice.
Like in the voice acting of the first part I'm not sure if my English is good enough to be understood. But I hope it adds some atmosphere to the game...
If you have any suggestions how to improve or would like to play the voice acting for one of the characters instead of me, just say.
Very nice game! Haven't gotten very far myself though. I'd be happy to record some voices for you, greenkeeper or barman :) PM me. You actually do a great voice for earl!!!
Just played it and the voices make the game really fun. I'm enjoying the game so far, my only complaint is some of the hotspots are rather small and the inventory and mouse cursors don't show the cross hairs to pin point them. This normally wouldn't be much of a problem but every time an action doesn't work it resets the mouse mode to walk, just a tad frustrating. :) Just a small nit pick however as the game is great!
Hi Ionias,
I just recognized that you are the sixt person that mentioned that my game gui is a bit annoying.
So I decided to change it. I uploaded a version of the game, that doesn't jump back to walk mode after clicking. So this should work a bit better for the game play...
The new version can be downloaded via the mainlink.
Hey Le Woltaire, did you upload it to your website site as well? Sadly I downloaded the game yesterday afternoon on my slow 2.5kbps (took about 3 hours). Looks like I will have to do this again. :(
Oh almost forgot to ask, this change in the gui affect both the non talkie version right? So both talkie and non-talkie have the new gui update. ???
One last question, are you gonna also change the gui in Earl Bobby is looking for his shoes as well or are you gonna keep it like that?
To answer the questions:
The non talkie version is hosted by Peder Johnsen and still contains the old GUI.
The talkie version is hosted by me and contains the new slightly changed GUI.
I can upload a non talkie with the new GUI as well if it's demanded...
I didn't think about changing the GUI in Earl Bobby is looking for his Shoes, because no one complained about it and it's a rather short game. I understood that in a larger game my GUI is annoying. I think my old GUI makes sense in a game that basically consists of one scrolling room because you have to walk around a lot and therefore the walk mode is of major importance...
However I didn't mention that it is now possible to switch back into the walk mode directly with the middle mouse button.
Apart from that a simple walkthrough of the game can be found on the walkthrough section of my homepage now.
Well, that saved me some time having to redownload the original non talky version since it doesn't have the new gui. Not that it bugs me, I think it's fine the way it is. I guess the talky version makes it special with the new gui.
As for Bobby Shoes, your right it's a short game, so the gui is of no problem.
