Post by: Icey on Sat 09/04/2011 05:58:20
I took a 2 day break from my last game and made this.
It is a short 1 room Demo.

Help the Engineer named Torisutian reach floor 2 by solving the puzzles in floor 1.

It is a short 1 room game. however if you count the menu then it's 2 rooms :]
Reminds me of the DVD covers, which have animated menus listed under "special features" ^^

Well your art style seems to be ever improving and you say theres actual puzzles? I might try this one out.

Just what does the DX stand for anyway?

EDIT:
Shame on me, i played this before Technobabylon III.  It was kind of ....easy...even for a non adventure game. And it was short I mean it took only 30seconds or so.
BUT i liked the ending:
Spoiler below!!

Well seriously,I think theres some potential here. The graphics are nice and the whole concept could work with stronger puzzles.

Thanks for playing

The DX stands for director's cut. A year ago me and my friends was supposed to make this game however he didn't want to help anymore so I made the DX version with a hero that was a modified version of his hero.

I plan to work on the full game latter after I study more of bens art ;)

It has potential icey, it's actually not bad at all - but it's not a short 1 room game, it's a short 1 room demo ;)

Virtually everything on your part has improved and is visible here. But "puzzles" I think is the wrong choice. You're just told what to do and you follow the instructions, there's nothing there to work out for yourself. It may be taxing for anyone under 5 years.

Anyway, make the complete thing and you'll have something quite nice under your belt.

Thanks for playing.

When I start to make the full game it will be short (10 floor's to complete) and each room will get harder however the goal is to make it to the next floor. :)

also got this:

the BG looks interesting but the game is too easy and the story has no time to develop ;)

That is an... odd way to have the game end.

I think its an awesome way!
It's not a bug its a feature!

Actually I like the make-your-way-across-the-screen/stage-by-solving-certain-puzzles-idea.
It would really work well with the cinematic platformer engine I'm currently developing.

That message will not be in the full game. And each level is supposed to be harder then the last.

Also as Mode7 said "the make-your-way-across-the-screen/stage-by-solving-certain-puzzles-idea.", This will be in all the levels.

Wow...that was....long.  ;D

Though background(even 1!!) was nice, and character is something from my style, but you should try to change animations, try to work with hands and it looks like you missed one frame in walking animation, cause one leg teleports from one side to other.

In the end it should be interesting game, if you keep that original ending  ;)

Thanks for playing.

I am still learning how to make a decent walking animation.

Seeing how some people like it I might keep that ending.

I'm hoping you're not talking about the AbortGame ending, because people didn't like it, they were mocking it. Sarcasm.

Your download server is irritating.

Unless you have some objection, I've made the file available here (http://www.kengott.com/gear.zip).

Sorry, I think I will find one that doesn't delete my stuff in 30 days if I don't sign in.

And thanks, I would add the mirror but the game pages says my password is wrong. :-\
