Title: Harry's 21st Birthday
Post by: newton64 on Wed 16/12/2009 14:50:59
Hey everyone.

Not too long ago (read: very long ago), I threw together an AGS game based on/ripping off sprites from the original Doom. That was in November 2003, and the original announcement is here (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=9845.0) (I had a slightly shorter forum name back then).

This morning---a crisp, frosty morning in December 2009---I decided it might be a good idea to actually post the game to the AGS games list. It apparently takes me some time to come to decisions.

The new, official AGS games page is here (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?category=&action=detail&id=1252&refresh1260973781), and believe me, it was entirely worth the wait.

In Harry's 21st Birthday, you play as Tom, one of Doom's absolutely charming and horrendously violent Barons of Hell. Tom's buddy Harry (a Cyberdemon) is celebrating his birthday today, and Tom's throwing a shindig at his sweet bachelor pad, the Phobos Anomaly (E1M8). Our story starts with Tom paying a visit to the Fortress of Mystery (E2M9), where he must convince his cacodemon friend Sally to take Harry out on the town, so that Tom himself can return home to prepare...

Though the game has already technically been announced for 6 years (may the forum gods forgive me), I figured this would make things more official, and allow some people (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=37732.msg496019#msg496019) to more easily track down the game in the future.

Download, play, and comment! (Optional: enjoy).

Glad to hear it :)

It was my pleasure, except for the parts where I had to code things and write dialogue and figure out sprites.
