Ah yes, that one. In the original game, the basket for Red Riding Hood's grandma could be found inside grandma's mailbox. (in front of her house)

We thought this was the only place where a basket SHOULDN'T be found and thus we made Possum lose her basket in a countryside screen. (there are 4 possible places where it can pop up)

Otherwise, there wasn't a whole lot of random stuff, but maybe I'm just biased. (heck, I probably am)

Gonzo

Yeah, I can't find Possum's basket...I've exhausted all conversation topics with her and walked around a load of screens clicking on all the bushes and rocks now. Any help?

AGA

It should appear randomly in any of the forest scenes...

Gonzo

Okay, I found it, cheers, back on track :)

Erpy

There are four different spots. One on the northern beach area, one in the eastern part of the forest, one next to the path that leads to town and one near the south-eastern part of the forest.

Quoteerpy, what do you want, some screenshots?
I'll even give you a screenshot of one of my directories with over 10,000 files in it. (That's just my monster set directory!) I wasn't joking when I said there are over 10,000 different monsters to do battle with in my masterpiece. And yes, this is a masterpeice, although it's got a long way to go before it'll be totally complete.

Well, if you wanna post a screenshot, do so. But please create your own thread instead of keep going off-topic in someone else's.

Second of all, I like that idea. The next time people ask Tierra for screenshots, we'll be showing them a screenshot showing all the files in the game's directory. As soon as we find ourselves a rotten tomato-proof umbrella. Okay, I was sarcastic. But I don't think anybody will be impressed by a folder full of files. A couple of REAL screenshots will impress people. Directories filled with files won't.

Do you realize that people tend to favor quality over quantity? Who cares about numbers? Who cares if a game has 1000 or 10,000 monsters in there? Nobody's gonna count them. Yet, the only thing I've seen you talking about is quantity, quantity, quantity. 10,000 this, ten million that....What use is a big car if it kicks the bucket after driving for a minute or two?

Most people don't think Phantasmagoria is Sierra's best game and yet, the game came on 7 CD's.

Matt Brown

yeah..robin hood conquests of the longbow was on 10 floppies, qutie a lot for its time. Looks like only I liked it.

If you ask me, I think all of the RPG guy's stuff is bull crap...about thousands of monsters and all that.
word up

Gonzo

I liked Conquests Of The Longbow! I didn't think anyone else had played that game. I replayed it for the first time in ages recently, still a good game.

Nostradamus

I finished the game. Best game I played this year. It was simply awesome. I loved how you made all this story into it. For me it was a great fantasy game. I hope that when you're done with QFG2VGA you will continue to KQ3

Gonzo

Yeah, I've now finished it too, and I'd say it's by far the best game I've played in a couple of years! Adventure games are the only games that I really love playing, and there's been a shortage of great adventure games, but all the same, a wonderful achievement. It's right up there with Sierra's best. The way the plot worked was awesome, it drew me right in, and it was just full of satisfying moments...I won't go into detail about what parts I especially loved as others will play it and see for themselves, but it's packed with adventurey goodness...:)

I was inspired to go back and play King's Quest V again after playing this, couldn't get the sound to work though :(.

Newsflash: RPG Maker is for retards.

Kings Quest II+ is for intelligent gamers that want a deep, challenging game with classic characters and puzzles, but beautifully updated graphics and technology.

So you've got a gig worth of RPG Maker. Is that something to be proud of? A gig worth of shit? If you want to show people how good a game creator you are, take up C++ and do it yourself, without some company holding your hand.

To WHATEVER: I could never download your game because it will be too big to download it.

I didn't download Tierra King's Quest 2 because, it's too big and it doesn't worth (my opinion) to try it. It's just a remake.

Even if this game has better graphics, better music & sound and adds some plots.

Just downloading remakes are not my cup of tea.

Trapezoid

It's  a fair bit more than just a remake...

Now back on topic!
Great remake from the people at Tierra. I finished it to my great satisfaction. It's obviously a labour of love kinda thing and I will anxiously await any future efforts by our 'Anonymous' friends.

I can understand not downloading it on a dialup, but to assume it is just a remake is a bit ignorant. Maybe you could downlaod it over night or something.

I am no where near a fan of the KQ series, infact I hate all that royal type stuff, but Tierra's game is by far the best AGS game made this year and it surprised me.

I was expecting a duplicate remake, but this is a totally new game just based on KQ2, It hardly even seems like KQ2

Very much worth a download

QuoteI'd suggest you to at least try it, and then talk.

No way. I already played Sierra King's Quest 2, I don't bothering for this version.

QuoteMaybe you could downlaod it over night or something.

No. I sleep the night.

I prefert downloading 50megs fanmade games than downloading remakes.

I am old enough to know my tastes. I don't like remakes made by Sierra or Tierra or somebody else.

You obviously didn't read other peoples coments, cause it's not really a remake, There is probably 50% new material,

QuoteNo. I sleep the night.

Your computer still works when you're asleep, I'm not kidding

But on a serious note why bother even comenting on the game if you don't want to play it.

I'd prefer to download a 50meg original game too
and as I said before KQ2 sucks but Tierra's version makes you think twice about how remakes can also be original pieces.

Somebody else may need the phone when I am sleeping.

I just want to share my opinions about remaking games like King's quest 2.

BTW: if you enjoyed Tierra KQ2, it's Ok. I  don't like Tierra KQ2, it's Ok too. Free speech isn't it?

I don't think many people will respect an opinion that's not properly backed up. That's likely the problem.

You obviously have a strong opinion about remakes, but I can assure you that KQ2+ is not what you think of when you hear the word "remake". Most remakes don't have many additional story elements, characters, locations and puzzles. (about 85% of the puzzles in the game is new to KQ2+) All people are asking is not to automatically assume things without knowing exactly what you're talking about.

Comparison: Technically speaking, the James Bond movie "Never say never again" is a remake of "Thunderball". Without asking whether NSNA or TB are good movies, anyone who says "I'm not gonna watch NSNA because I've already seen TB" will probably be laughed at and rightfully so. It's really not possible to judge KQ2+ (regardless of whether you've played the original or not) if you haven't played it.

(and Whatever: didn't I already ask you to create your own thread if you want to babble on about your über-game? I'll give you a hand. In this link http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=3047 you can post all the stuff about your RPG as you want, but keep it out of this thread if you please.)

QuoteI don't think many people will respect an opinion that's not properly backed up.

I played remake games so I know I'm talking about.

I downloaded and played remake sierra king's quest sci. Even the graphics and other stuff are update and changed some plots, you will not find the pebbles at the same room, King's Quest is the same game than AGI one.

I downloaded  and played Space Quest VGA and LSL VGA. Still, they are  the same games than their originals.

After those games, I stopped downloading remakes games because they are the same with some changes.

You (Erpy) can't tell me I don't like remake games if I didn't try them first. Yes I tried them.

I know you (Erpy) are the one of the authors of King's quest 2+ and I respect that.

And King's Quest 1+ won some AGS awards 2001.
