Title: Kirjastotäti
Post by: Hemuuuli on Tue 12/07/2011 16:52:05
Kirjastotäti (A librarian)

Download: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=1452 (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=1452)

I made this little game with my girlfriend as a birthday present to my mother who works as a librarian. This is my first AGS release and it took about 4 month to complete. I loved the workflow in AGS and will do something in future when I have some spare time (I got into a game development school and it starts in 2 months so I doubt I have too much if it). I will try to make my next release in english, I already have started making game design docs.

I don't expect many downloads or feedback because the game is in finnish, but I thought that someone might enjoy playing this. At least my playtesters liked it. The difficulty level is very low because the target audience (= my mom) isn't familiar with computer games.

Oh, and thanks for the support I got during making this game from here (mainly search function, but still)!

Fun little game. Bit easy but probably right for your mom. Very promising for first game.

I don't speak/understand a word Finnish, but I wanted to try this out nevertheless.
So, for me it was basically try&error and clicking through dialogs, being amazed again and again by the word length and number of double consonants in the Finnish language ;D

Cute graphics and (from what I understood) funny characters/puzzles, and overall a solid game. Looking forward to your next game where I'll be able to understand the dialog :D

Aivan mahtava peli!  ;D

Just awesome... so funny. Specially the rich guy wanting some book to make even more money... what could be that..? Wait a moment.... a money tree?  ;D

The dialog is just awesome... thumbs up and hopefully you'll continue making similar games or developing the librarian futher.  ;)

Will play later, probably during weekend.
Also, if Hemuuuli doesn't mind, I'll record the playthrough for youtube and comment it in english so maybe some people who cannot understand the language can get in on the dialogue too. I'll see what i can do. Will post link in this thread when I get to it.

WHAM: Your Let's Play was very entertaining to watch. Voice acting made game much more vibrant.

I got desperate too when you were trying to solve zombie puzzle.
And by the way, the zombie is she not he. :3

I was laughing so much and hard when playing the game thru.... the final LOL came when the drunken man came with such silly walk and hand movement that I was almost literally ROFL!!!

She looked more like a "he", although the art did hint toward zombified boobies under the shirt. Oh well, maybe it was a bit of both, or maybe I'm just twisted!  ;)

Swamped with stuff again and people are returning to work from vacation so work is even more hectic than it used to be. Wont be able to do a translation for a while, but might try to get back to it when I have time. Sorry Hemuuuli!

Not a problem WHAM, I was suprised by the offer anyway. Your let's play was as good as the game gets and it even has "voice acting" :D so I encourage non-finns to watch it as it might take a while before this game is available in english.

Haha, nice one! With many "Ah! So that's what this one was about!" moments ;D
