Finally. This the full version of OSD episode 1. Every thing should also be fixed that wasn't in the RPG demo.

There has also be a lot of stuff added to the game, like new jobs,music,sprites,ect...

This is what all true warriors strive for.

Surprisingly enjoyable take on the Oceanspirit Dennis tale, with a good helping of humor and cliches played so straight it's fantastic. It really captures the JRPG opening scenes we've all come to know, but doesn't feel stale. It adds a new dimension without detracting from the rest of the canon.

Spoiler
The milkmaid job is the BEST job. Wiped out that slime in one hit! I would liked to have had a little bit of explaination on how Dennis fell off a hill into Hell, and I originally had thought the Soul Limit was the enemy's attack bar, and you had to beat him before it filled. But that's the way OSD rolls. Inpenetrable JRPG mechanics are der rigour, and encouraged.

In conclusion, it left me wanting more of this OSD experience.

#2
:D You thought it was good! I have been waiting for a comment like that for a "good amount of time now" thanks for playing the game.

Well you see it is actually a portal to the OSD world from the Icey games world(senpah). You see I wanted to add alot of modern things to EP2  but I wouldn't been able to because senpah is no wear close to 2010 so I just brought him to present time.

Shane 'ProgZmax' Stevens

Finally a complete Ocean Spirit Dennis adventure by the very fellow who inspired the saga!

I will play this.

Ponch

I think it goes without saying that this is the best game Icey has ever made. I played it all the way through and it got a couple of laughs out of me. Truly a worthy entry into the OSDverse.

Good job, Icey. :)

(Also, cow mode was awesome!)

I gave this a try, honestly it was a nice effort. The dialogs with the child in hood or generally most of the dialogs, actually any text on screen didn't fail to confuse me the least. I also thought the Soul Limit was something else. All and all, an okay game. I found the credits to be the longest credits ever created for a game of such length. They almost even had the same duration.
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

I don't know about ocean spirit dennis and I don't know iceys previous games - so after the credits rolled I just thougt - what the f***

There were some nice ideas and all but...really I didn't get it. Was nice to hear some tunes from the FF games again though.

one thing: If you use the keyboard control module - just set the mode to pressing cause taping seems really odd and he's having a seizure if I keep pressing the arrows.

Here's Oceanspirit Dennis' history in a nutshell, sponsored by Ponch.

Haven't played this one yet but I'll check it out soon. A finished game by Icey that got positive reviews? That's something I gotta see myself.

I will see if I can fix it because with a lot of unfinished games in the past it always seemed as though there was an invisible gui blocking the game.

I will try and fix it today.

I wish I could explain but sadly that is what stopped some old projects because its like there is a gui up that stopped the mouse to click on anything so I have to set the zorder of some guis to the front all the time in order for them to work.

Calin Leafshade

you can just set a guis Clickable property to false and it wont block mouse click.

gGui1.Clickable = false;

To clarify, this has nothing to do with an invisible GUI. mode7 suggested to call
  KeyboardMovement.SetMode(eKeyboardMovement_Pressing);
because then you need to hold down the arrow button to keep Dennis moving, as one would expect with a SquarePeniks game.

Icey

To all OSD fans. I am working on one of the biggest parts in the OSD series. I also want to finish this by the end of the year.

Have you ever wanted to add to the OSD universe or just make a game? Well don't miss this chance because this will be the best game ever!!!

here is a list of what I need for the game & how many people we should have in a group.

- Background music  Size(1-5+)
I want to use original music for this game not music on the web.I would like to have a lot of music in this game to fit the environment, scene, or place.

- Sound effects Size(1-5+)
I would like for people to find sound effects that may fit the environment, scene, or place.

- Cut scene setup Size(1+)
I might be able to do this my self but it may be easier to show people how I would like the event to be setup so they can do it fast, better, & easy.

- world animation Size(1+)
There is some what a lot of little things that will be going on in this game that I would like to work with people on to show that the city is not really "flat" or just a picture but more of an everyday view(winter time)

- AI animation Size(1+)
Like what I said up top. There will also be people around the city who may be walking, talking, or just standing there but the still need a sort of idle view like yawing, calling someone,or waving.Or a main view like reading newspapers talking to another AI & more.

- character animation Size(1+)
The main characters of the game will have the most idle& main views.I will draw up the main characters Then draw them in game form with a list of action for there views. Then the members of this group will receive them in a pm &/or email.

- proofreaders Size(2+)
At the end of the project I would like to send the game to two people and have them read over the game and see if there is a typo.

- scripters Size(1-5+)
Scriptwriters will be need because everyone has there set knowledge on AGS and I find it necessary that we can get at least 3 people with who is good and more fond of ags then others.

- snow/rain plugin v2.02+ setup Size(1+)
It will snow all the time so I will need some one to add snow effects to the game that look some what real.

- world scripter Size(1-5+)
Like I said before there is a lot of little things that will go on in the world or in each room. But to make every thing meet right I need world scriptwriters to make every thing "come to life."

- Ai scripters
Like I said before there is a lot of little things that character will do in each room. But to make every thing meet right I need Ai scriptwriters to make every one "come to life."

- TCP/ip setup
like most OSD games, I would like to include an iphone which will have an app on it called "Chat Me"
This will allow players to chat with other players on a server.

I really want this game to go well and I know I can only get 20% far by myself doing the stuff I stated at the top. Hopefully this team thing will work  ;)

Khris

I've read this in the other thread and let me just say that I shook my head quietly, wondering what in hell you're thinking when you come up with stuff like this.

So you're going to need 3-15+ scripters total? REALLY?

Let me tell you this: you are a 15 year old boy with way too much video game time on his hands, not the executive producer of the "best game ever", heading a huge team of professionals into the future of AGS and RPG gaming.

This game here, "OSD: episode 1", it was a joke. The first battle was an attempt at humor mixed with something pretending to be round-based combat. What followed was a severely crippled OSD crossing a bland screen, which had no point whatsoever. This was followed by an unintelligible cutscene and then a second battle which made even less sense than the first one. You have again put Square all over the place, despite numerous people telling you over and over again that this can get you into trouble.
Calling this a game is an insult to other games. You threw this together hastily ("I'll have all the sprites by friday"), then uploaded it in a severely broken state. I'm genuinely impressed that you actually went back to it and fixed some stuff; you still opened a second thread though, in an attempt to hide the broken version, I assume.

You got praise for this because you made it part of OSD, and people appreciated your capacity for taking yourself not seriously. However in retrospect it seems you regard the OSD label as a free ticket to nice comments and fame without actually doing anything worthy of that.

Apparently you didn't grow up at all during the last few months though because you still keep announcing projects like this. You want a team of 15, 20 people and be finished six weeks from now? Please pull your head out of your ass.
I just wish you could see four, five years into the future, watching the older you cringe of shame and embarrassment every time it is reminded of what it did in 2010.

Um, kind of missing the point of OSD, here. The thing is about the games as made by one or two people (like RON but with less canon continuity). OSD really isn't epic game material for huge teams. It's fun little games. You could do all these jobs yourself, and it would be no hassle to you. Don't think about ICP/IP, AI, background animation, or anything like that.

Just make a freaking game by yourself.. No matter how unprofessional it is, so long as it shows you put effort into it it doesn't matter (trying to improve on a personal level is good, though). We aren't a huge game company, and OSD is not a franchise you can milk for anything but laughs, we're just AGSers having fun :P Just next time, don't put long unskippable credits crediting Square Enix. That is a big nono.

Also, hopefully you'll look back and ask yourself, "Why did I put "episode 1" in every title?"

Icey

I was joking about the best game ever.

And I have grown up. I just really like osd and I just wanted to make one that was a little more longer then my first osd.

And if you think I still put square enix in my games just so I can hear everyones mouth then your wrong.

Let me break osd 1 and 2 down to you.

After my unfinished pmq.2 -online- dennis(he was just an added character in the game, like amber) left the ice tower in headed north just to get the shogin crystal for himself. But he failed and fell into a portal and went ino the modern time(2010) when he geets there he is supposed to fight a real big snow blob. While he is fighting the blob he is beening watched by a worker a square enix. She pretends to be hurt by the blob and asks dennis to take her back to square enix HQ in the city. She joins the party and then head to the city.

(Now let m say this just takes place before I finished nnt2 meaning this takes place before the real osd adventures)

The worker is told to study dennis and see if he can stop the snow spell over the city. When they find out that square peniks casted the spell they try asking him to stop it. Square peniks said no but told them that if dennis joins square peniks then they will end the spell but dennis told them no because they was evil and he may be working with square enix soon.

Square peniks did not like that so he asked them leave. He order his 4 villens to find dennis make him join us but don't kill him.

(I will not speak the rest of the story but I will say the ending)

At the end of the game dennis loses a fight with the blizzard titan and dies. Square peniks was not pleases to see him go so easaly so he told the worker that if I bring dennis back to life with the ocean spirit he must leave square enix and work at square peniks and leave square enix in the past.the worker says yes and then there you have it, he comes back as the Ocean spirit dennis from the  first osd rpg.

Its a lot but it proves that I did grow up. And dennis was going to work at square enix but he didn't. That is the only thing that will be in the game from square enix nothing else. Its still a short osd game. And I didn't say I want 12 -15 people I said (1+) meaning I hope I can get at least one person in that group and (1-5+) means I really want at least more then one in that group.

If I could revoke OSD rights, I would, but I can't, so I won't. You making an OSD game is like the pope directing Dogma.
