ddq- No, because the above bit perfectly shows how Icey works. He gets all exited about his cool ideas, slabs a screensaver together and releases it, sometimes remembering to mark it as a demo, then he has a lot of things pointed out by forum members more patient than me, goes "KTHNXBYE" and does the same all over.

Why are we not relentlessly mocking this? It's essentially a moving mockup screen.
Why is it funny to shit out something like this and call it OSD?
Why not produce an actual mockup with a hires font and put it in the Critics Lounge instead?

I never mean to get anyone mad. Once someone says something with a unnecessary tone then thats when I get upset. All I was basically trying to say to khris or anyone else is that there is a way to say things and there is also a time to say'em. You don't see me going around in everyone thread saying things I hate about the game or the user. Because that would be wrong and after while it would be considered as Trololololing.

Okay, seriously what are you asking to lock the thread and ban Icey for when what he has made is almost a direct straightforward literal remake of original OSD game made by Ben? Obviously and surely, however you look at it it's not that much worse than the original. The original wasn't locked, and Ben wasn't banned. Obviously and surely that is unfair? I completely fail to see what rules did Icey break by doing absolutely the same thing. CalinLeafshade's thread wasn't locked either when he posted the game called Life  that had just as much gameplay, sense and completeness as this.

Also, should I even point out that trying to act as a moderator is directly discouraged in the forum's posting guidelines?

I have to admit I'm pretty shocked by some of the reactions here, and Nemo is right. If releasing unfinished/stupid/joke games is cause for a ban then I deserve a ban too - I've thrown enough stupid jokes games around in my time to warant it.

But is it, really? If you go back to the first few pages of Completed Games announcements the you see a bunch of threads made by people with unfinished games that they've released. None of this ever upset anyone. Heck, the hourgames - who are, as a rule, always either unfinished or unpolished simply due to the time constraints - have their own sticky thread.

The kid likes making little game projects, and perhaps his attitude can be frustrating at times. But here I see people I have a lot of respect for picking on him for reasons I really can't understand, and that saddens me a little bit. Perhaps it's the fact that everywhere else in the indie community this sort of naive enthusiasm is tolerated and even respected - heck, take a look at the IGF Pirate Kart.

So um... yeah. I have a lot of respect for pretty much everyone who has posted in here, but I wish you'd all calm down and just ignore S3 if he annoys you. Yes, we have clear rules in the sticky thread, but surely there ignoring someone who upsets you is a better way of dealing with it than banning the stupid cunt?

If anyone wants to discuss it or argue, feel free to take it into PMs with me so we don't clog up the thread more with offtopic posts like we've been doing.

The anger and calls for banning aren't the result of posting one game "that's really similar to one of Ben's anyway"; they are the result of repeated offense, of a general inability to abide by the rules of this community.
It's simply ridiculous and absurd that doing one "ok" thing after a slew of BS should clean the slate; doubly so if it happens multiple times, again and again and again.
To top it off, icey complains about the tone of our posts; "there is a way to say things and there is also a time to say'em", really? Can it get more ironic than that?
The incapability of getting what it is that annoys us here is staggering.

Sure, I could ignore his threads. My point though is that in the end, falling on your face if you do something stupid is going to help you in the long run. I used to do some pretty stupid things and I'm glad that people got upset and told me they didn't approve.

On the other hand, I have, in the past, expressed a desire to see some kind of mod action in regards to Icey, and I still think it's something he might actually benefit from.

Trolling a troll, doesn't make it right. So yeah, I dislike m0ds, but i don't go into his topics and insult him. Frankly, I respect almost everyone in this topic, but this is like so wrong. You are almost less mature than icey here, and he deserves some stuff, but not now. We've been discussing this with qptain nemo for a while now, so i completely and utterly agree with him. Just leave him be, let the MODERATORS do the moderating.

If you don't like him, stop bothering with him.

You know what i love more, is that icey has been bashed in all topics except in critics lounge. Where actual feedback is required as a forum rule. So that pretty much says it.
