AGS JukeBox version 2.1

This is an easy to use utility that allows you to listen to all the digital music from your favorite AGS game. It requires a "music.vox" file from any AGS game in order to run. This utility is great for listening to all your favorite songs from soundtracks like KQ2VGA.

Wow excellent!  :o
You did script this jukebox very well, I'm amazed!
And the interface's great. Only, the mouse cursor should be smaller, but that's all.
I had never had the opportunity to hear all kq2's musics, so now I have.
thanks :)

No problem! Some people were asking about a program like this over at the Tierra forums. I decided to create one, and Tom (KQ2VGA's musician) has actually advertised the program for me on his site (Quest Studios).

At one point I was thinking about creating a playlist feature that would allow you to enter a track name for each song, and then recall the playlist similar to restoring a saved game. I had it kinda sorta halfway working, but AGS has a limitation on the amount of strings and nested if statements, so it didn't work out very well... Maybe if enough people download the program and like it, I may try to rescript the playlist thing...

I just used the default AGS mouse cursor in this version. I'll add that to my list of things to change incase I ever decide to update it again...

The link to your program is no longer working. Could you possibly make the AGS Jukebox available for download again somehow? Thanks!

Dude, way to necromance a thread!

Navynuke hasn't posted on these forums for three years, even.

Also, if you really need something like that, it's a matter of minutes to script it (without a proper interface, granted, but who needs that, anyway?) and a nice practice.

Let's all clap some more, I mean i've seen wrong posts... but geez...
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

IF anyone still has a copy of this please say, it'd be great to get back!

Akatosh

It seems that the file still exists... I haven't tried downloading it, but at least I don't get a 404 error.

In different news, finding out links that were on now-deceased websites via the Wayback Machine would make for a great puzzle in an adventure game.

/EDIT: Eh, I should have tried downloading it before posting. Sorry.

Iv4n

And I've shouldn't download it before reading all your post :).

Btw if it's THAT easy, can anyone compile one? I mean the post may be old, but it's a good idea.

Alright...

Here's it, a very simple, hacked together 668KB tool.

It's just like the other version, but very, very, very barebone and plain-looking (white background with black text on it...). To use it, you need to copy the music.vox file from another game directory into its. I tested it with the music.vox files of _Access and El Presidente, and it worked just fine. Granted, it lacks ANY userfriendliness whatsoever, but it still gets the trick done.

Took me all of two minutes to script this :P

I spent far too long on this.
AGSAmp

It's not very well tested (which includes spell checking the read me - if anyone's actually interested, I'll fix it up later), but it's a bit more user friendly than Akatosh's. Dunno how it compares to NavyNuke's because I never used it...

Comments via PM, please.
I know what you're thinking ... Don't think that.

I no longer had a copy of this, but someone was kind enough to send it to me. This isn't the latest version I had made, but it is pretty close. The latest version was capable of running in the background while you did other things.

Edit: Someone was kind enough to send along the most recent version to me. Here's a link:
