Excellent game.  I really liked the black and white look.  Voice acting was top notch.  I didn't hear any room noise, or a single pop of the mic as someone blows into it as they speak.  Great work.

My computer had zero problems with the visual effects.  Which I liked (other than the puddles not appearing until After the room faded in)
I also had the audio glitching/repeating between scenes like GG had mentioned.  Every door that I opened, and the music in the end credits.  It's a shame, because I enjoyed the ending music.  If your end credits on your next game are objects instead, it'll sort out that audio glitch.

Looking forward to episode 2.

I cant wait for the other version with the toggle-effects.  What I saw looks really nice but it wouldnt run on my laptop.  I will give it a shot when the new version is released.

Calin Leafshade

As promised, i've uploaded a version with switchable effects.

ive updated the link.

:o wow is all I can say.

Amazing game, all around total winner.

Your voice over is incredible, the rhythm everything, completely wonderful and completely MADE this game.

You used some awesome effects, only complaint is that it's a bit of a cliff-hanger and leaves us wondering about Tabitha's true nature.

But THAT is easily solved by releasing a sequel. Which I can only pray you do.

-A Total Fan from this point on-

(side note no glitches whatsoever, ran in 640x480 window.)

Thanks alot :p

Make sure you all rate it on the games page  :=

Bug at the end:
in room19.asc, line 232
set MusicMasterVolume: invalid volume - must be between 0 and 100
I downloaded the game yesterday, it says v1 in the filename. I don't really feel like playing through 1.1 just to know if the credits won't play either in that one...

I'm on a laptop, everything ran smoothly.

Nice game, very enjoyable. My only complaint is the difference in volume between the different and voices and SFX. If I pushed the volume enough to hear McCarthy and Michael, Sarah's voice was too loud and the grandfather clock was deafening... The setup gui helped a little for the last one, though.

Calin Leafshade

damnit i knew that would happen but forgot to fix it.

people dont set your music value above 80 :p it will crash the game

will fix in V1.11

It's a brilliant little introduction to what I hope will be a fulfilling series. The graphics and music are exceptional. Can I ask though - what's the song that plays in the last scene and the end credits? I've heard it before but I can't place it.

Looking forward to the next excursion.

Calin Leafshade

The song is called In a Heartbeat. it's from the 28 days later soundtrack.

I really didnt want to steal a song but it just fit too damn well.

Crimson Wizard

I finally got to this game.
Looks really good so far, but voice acting for main character is a bit unexpected; don't want to seem rude, but it sounds like a really young guy is talking, which is rather uncommon for such stories ;)

Can't help myself not to notice some glitches.
1) There's a bunch of phrases with period missing in the end.
2) When I enter rooms with puddles, these puddles appear a second after room is displayed.
3) When interacting with doorbell, McCarthy sais "Doesn't seem to work", and voice is missing.

Calin Leafshade

All of those things have already been flagged up :p

but thanks for mentioning them.

Originally I made my voice much more gravelly but then as time when on (about 500 voice files later) I kinda forgot and just lapsed into my natural speaking voice.. which happens to sound like a 14 year old girl.. matches the way i look quite nicely :p

Awesome! Now I can play! Muahaha!

Woah excellent game totally got me into your world

Bravo

great choice to get Mordalles on board  :D

A very promising start - stylish, atmospheric and gripping game.

I like this type of story-driven detective gameplay, without excessive kleptomania and mind-twisting logic, which are so common in point'n'click adventures.
Reminded me of DeFoe and Blackwell series in that aspect, which is, obviously, a good thing. :)

Graphics and music work perfectly with the story and setting of the game, voice-acting is solid and writing is detailed and consistent.
Everything adds up, resulting in a really enjoyable, albeit overly dark,  mystical thriller.

Good luck with the series! :)

So when is the shadowy cabal of the review panel likely to get to my game?

I'd like to know how many Big Blue Cups I need to put on my mantlepiece.

Seriously though.. do you all wear cloaks?

..and whats the password to get into your lair?

Amazing game, there are no ways to describe the quality of its production and immersion.

The voice acting was also good too, which is a major plus. See my comment on your game reviews (100% rating from me haha)

Btw when will you be releasing Episode 2??? I cant wait for it, sitting here eagerly. Maybe if you want same help Im here haha :)

Btw if you want this game spread about the media a bit, let me know, I can open a few doors ;)

Good game, good story, keep the updates coming to us :)
If im not coding, im msn. If im not msn, im gaming.

Calin Leafshade

kind of you to say so.

As for episode 2 I'm hoping for a 6 week dev cycle. Hopefully looking to release by february.

And open a few doors? You're really going to have to elaborate on that because currently you sound like one of my spam emails. :p

No problem

Found another (still playing lol)

Spoiler
The day after the wolf attacks sarah (1st sighting of the wolf) i went back into her room, and the window was intact. its also intact from the outside (not sure if this is plot or a mistake yet.) just thought id flag it up.

Not only that, but on second day there's still a light in the window, although you may enter the room and notice that there's no light on inside (thankfully Sarah is not seen in the window while being in the kitchen at the same time :P); and when looking on it McCarthy sais that he thinks "there's someone in the room".

Apart from that - inventory arrows allow you to shift items up to 1 unnoccupied slot.

She runs upstairs everytime you leave the house :p

And the inventory arrows thing was intentional to show the player that that is the end of the inventory items.
