You are one of the Nizari Order's fedais, an assassin who would do anything to execute the leader's order, including sacrificing his own life. And this time your leader, Sabbah, wants the Seljuk Prince of Rudkhan Castle removed. All an assassin needs, is a dagger and a cunning plan.

Congratulations on the release, and thanks for giving me the chance to betatest this.

The game is funny, yet serious, historical, yet of myth, hand-painted and beautiful. I hope it is played by many, as it deserves.  (nod)

@heltenjon
Thank you Jon. I'm honored by your contribution. Now I realize why abortion should be legalized, cause it's not fun to be pregnant for so long.

Congratulations on the release, a fine game indeed!

Found a minor bug :
Spoiler
When looking at the book with the symbols in the library
and looking at the cloth with the symbols TWICE to compare the symbols,
there is no way to return to the book, you will get stuck looking at the cloth.
Nothing gamebreaking, though....
i am totally stuck at finding some tinder for the hearth......

@Ian Aloser
Thank you Ian. I'll try to sort it out.
Spoiler
Listen to what the librarian has to say! And don't forget pressing tab button, just in case you miss it!

EDIT: I tried it three times, and still I can get back to book ???

EDit 2: Now I understand what you mean, thanks Ian!

Thanks Lapsking,
I am afraid that this might be another bug :
Spoiler
I was always sure that I have to use the shears to cut off a page from
one of the books. Guess this would be the tinder I need.
The problem is: I have no book in my inventory and
cannot take another from the shelf in the magician's room nor can I
remove the book I placed in the library...

@Ian Aloser

No, that's not a bug!
Spoiler
You can't mess with Mystic's or Sex-slave's books, as you promised to them (Imagining that you are still moral in your last few hours of life on the way to "heaven"). There are other books to mess with though!

I'm uploading a new version for Windows and Linux, after fixing the bug you reported. I appreciate it.

I completed this game and I really enjoyed it. I want to leave some comments:

Graphics, sound and immersion: I usually prefer to see a character walking around the screen and doing things as well as animations, but somehow the art in this game is just so well-done that the experience was immersive notwithstanding.

Story, Puzzles and Pacing: this is the hardest part to accomplish because one never knows how the player is going to respond while playing but this game absolutely nailed it. The background history is fascinating and the puzzles unfold at a perfect pace while playing. The puzzles are an excellent variety of inventory puzzles and dialogue puzzles and the difficulty is just at that level where you can solve almost all of them just by using a bit of thinking and intuition. I had to ask for some hints for a few puzzles but I was able to solve almost everything on my own.

It's clear that a lot of effort went into the game and the result is amazing.

I just finished it.

I've enjoyed the original setting and the banter with the characters.

The puzzles were good. I just wish some alternative routes were provided for the more trivial tasks.
Spoiler
For instance, I had to look for the hint section to find the specific piece of paper that you need to start a fire.

Also, the player experience could be improved in a couple of places:
Spoiler
- Let the player use the golden string on the pimp and use the wild flower on the cook. Right now, the game only allows you to give them. I got stuck for a while beacause of that.
- Let the player move the dials near the door by clicking directly on them. Right now, you have to select a verb (push or pull) before each rotation, which is tedious.

Pleasant visuals, although the animations are scarce.
Spoiler
For instance, I'd have enjoyed to see the slab door slide upwards, which can be achieved easily with a TweenYposition (https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/modules-plugins-tools/module-tween-2-2-2-with-ags-3-5-0-support!/) command and a walkbehind.

Kudos for the sound effects accompanying all the actions. It gives more weight to our actions.

I found tbook's music to be good quality and suiting.

All in all, a nice and polished experience.

@Creamy

1.
Spoiler
Again yeah, it seems finding the paper is the most difficult puzzle. Others got stuck with it too.

2.
Spoiler
Yes, I understand 9-verbs GUI sometimes makes tasks unnecessarily complicated. But give and use do different tasks in Lucas Arts style. Give is for giving the item to that person (eg. giving the gold wire to character) while use is using it on the person (eg. using dagger on a character to kill him). Next time I'll probably try with Sierra style.

3.
Spoiler
I could make the slab door move upwards or few other things. But animation was deliberately avoided to give the feeling of playing on an inanimated painting canvas.

It was a pleasure to work with Tomasz @tbook for music. I appreciate the feedback, and I'm more than happpy you had a nice experience. :)

Edit: For pulling/pushing knobs faster you can use keyboard shortcuts. All verbs have keyboard shortcuts but it's not in instructions.
