Title: Washed Ashore - mAGS winner!
Post by: Akatosh on Sun 26/08/2007 17:37:49
A game for this month's mAGS, and I'm still a comfortable 3.5 hours away from the dealine! Go me!  :=

You play as the german Zeppelin commander Wilhelm von Hadenberg, and... damn, play for yourself! Now with 500% more clichés about Imperial Germany than the next leading brand.

Game is around 1.1 MB of size. It's played like every other adventure these days, with some exceptions, but these are answered in a text document that's supplied with the download.

Downloady! (http://www.esnips.com/doc/cb5fc435-3cc0-4f97-90a4-fe0017b8cc97/WashedAshore)

/EDIT:

Now with extra much contest winning! Accept no substitutes! (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=32215.msg416524#msg416524)

HA!! This game is great! ;D
And the style... it's... it's like... it's Akatosh-style.

As I said I really liked it, though the inv where a bit strange. But it doesn't really matter.
A really funny game, I order you to play it!
PLAY IT NOW!

I'm sooo sold too.

The day Akatosh will make a pirate-driven story, we will know that *they* abducted him.
Downloading right now.

The winner this time is the game named "Washed Ashore" created by Akatosh in his very unique style!

Thanks for your support, people!  :)

A nice game. Small and somewhat easy, but at the same time almost too fun to be true. Humor, silly plot and just... CUTE characters is probably what won you the MAGS.

Found one bug, though:
Spoiler
By accident, I somehow managed to put the steel pipe and the wire back together again after taking them apart. And at that point in the game, the game wouldn't let me take them apart again (even though I had the right tool), so I had no possible way of obtaining that wire again.

... just so you're aware of it.

Yeah, that's a bug indeed...

Spoiler

You can only take the tool apart if it's fully assembled - that is, pipe, wire and magnet... but I'll fix it. That shouldn't be too hard  ;)

Silly me.
Spoiler
I forgot all about the magnet. I tried putting the pipe and wire together with the rags, and was frustrated it didn't work, so I was convinced it was impossible to assemble the tool again. For some reason it didn't occur to me that I had to put the magnet on before the rags.

So, not as big a bug as I thought, then.

Get your friend out from under the rubble, then get him to repair the radio.

I'm thinking about it... but at the moment, that seems pretty likely.
/EDIT: And lo and behold, I did it.
