Heres some robots for crit. Might put them in my game which has been on hold for the last 6months. Paint overs welcome.

Three generations of robot the 1st one is a hologram robot. It shows holograms out of its head. The 2nd one is a cleaning robot. And the 3rd one is used in security. Any ideas welcome to improve them in thier roles welcome  ;D

They look funny! LOL :D

and now serious C&C... FUNNY!!! ;D

And now really serious:
I like them. Is the game cartoonlike? If so, good job! If not, try making them more realistic.
The hologram robot looks a bit too simple, he needs a projector, right? Do you have a picture of it showing a (simple) hologram?
The cleaner robot also looks like a regular robot, maybe you can something that makes it look more like a cleaner?
The security robot really looks like one, but he needs a more strict face to be impressive. I'd suggest making the upper part of it's eyes darker.

Yeah robots, one can never have enough robots!

And those a truely nice robots, but I think you should go up a notch with the contrast.
I mean those are low-res sprites and for one to really appreciate the fine details they need to be more contrasted. Put them on a BG and you'll see what I mean. This is always a good way to see if your sprites work.

Hope to see some really cool updates and a BG!

Go robots, go robots...

Those robots are really great. You managed to do a lot with very few pixels.

I also very much agree with Mad that they could benefit from being done with more contrasting colors.

I think depending on what your BGs are like and what else will be going on, that might be all they need. The detail is certainly there, considering how tiny they are, and since they're a little bit cartoony there's no need for really elaborate shading imo.

I was a bit bored just now and mocked up an example for you:

UPDATE

Thanks for your comments so far ;D keep them coming
Took all the ideas into account and tried to put them in.

Robot 1: Added hologram idea improved contrast and changed the legs into a rubber tire kind of thing.
Robot 2: changed head shape to differ from robot 3 (thought they were a bit too similar) Added a light on the top of the head and a scoop(left arm) and Hoover (vacuum)(right arm). Also added keypad and improved contrast.
Robot 3: Beefed him up a bit. Added an eyebrow, light and a security badge. Also a scanner on the front which scans with ultra violet and infra red light.

Anyways keep the ideas and suggestions coming  ;D

I do like the updated versions better, but IMO, the security robots + and - symbols, as well as that red line at his base, are far too bright compared to the rest of him.  Maybe dull them to less saturated colors, so that they don't stand out much, or something of that sort.

I'd suggest looking at some of this guy's galleries. He seems to make some amasing robot designs for his pictures.

I decided to increase the size of the robots. Heres the security one for starters with a few design changes thanks to Krysis's link. Turned him more into robocop than anything ;D paint overs and any suggestions welcome :)

I did a paint over... It seems your shades are too close and too dark so the image seems dark and that doesn't look that good. Here is how a sprite looks with only 3 shades of each color (not counting the black). The contrast between the colors is pretty good. So don't be afraid to use lighter tones. And use gray or some neutral colour when you draw your sprites. That really helps.

I really like that revision.

I do wonder, though, how intimidating he's meant to be. At the moment he's extremely cute, but not very scary at all, and I think part of it has to do with the fact that he's shaded to look so round. As someone said in another thread about backgrounds, round things aren't scary. If he's not meant to be scary then I think this one is really great. If he is... it's still great but... not scary. ;)
