Minimi

Hi there. I haven't posted in ages... and lately have been working non-stop on modelling. I want to show you my finished work on a Billiardpack I was making. Feel free to give critics or comments ;)

*just as a note, it's a commercial product, aimed at Poser users!

Gfunkera

Well, they look real good although I think they may be a lil' too dark. I can't even make out the second table with the glass. Other than that they look great  :=

BlackMan890

i agree what Demorgon tm said, it's really dark

Please go to www.simnet.is/elinnils52 and download my non ags/adventure game :)

Russtaccio

These look great!  I do agree they need to have some light put on them though.  PS What program did you make them in?

Read the bottom of the images :)

edit - I stand corrected :)

Minimi - I think they're pretty darn good!

I like the details on the legs and the chairs.  The close-up on the 12 ball looks a little jaggy to me though.

And of course, shadows would make it all so much prettier :)  Please post the lighted work when/if you have it.

It says rendered in Poser not modeled in Poser. I don't think it is actually possible to make an item in poser itself. Most people use 3d max, lightwave, or something like that.

Hi thanks for your comments.

Maybe it's just my uber-light screen, because it's not too dark to me, but as these are the promotion pictures, I might consider lighten them abit.

JRL2222 : The models are modelled with Wings3D 0.98.23a, textured with TheGimp, and rendered in Poser5. TheGimp and Wings3D are both freeware. I haven't got enough money for these expensive applications! But I heard people saying wings is better than 3dmax! :p

Darth Mandarb : I know about the balls. They have 1024x1024 texture maps, and I thought it was a wee bit ridiculous to use 2048x2048 for the balls. Also, it might be because of the JPEG conversion...

PS : Here are some pictures of the new product I'm working on :

Chess Megapack

I probably made this last picture of the chessclock also too dark, according to your opinions ;)

Cluey

Will these be on renderosity?
Great art site with a sh*tload of poser stuff
Aramore
My webcomic.

Minimi

Yes they will be on Renderosity Market Place.

The billiard pack is $14.00 and on sale for $12.60
It's still in pending period, so not yet available.

It's my first product until now! I'm curious to the saleresults.
In a few days I'll finish the chesspack too!

Evil

Maybe its just me but the cue chalk looks unsquare. The rest looks amazing, but the cue chalk and the ball renderings would make me question buying it.

Cubes are HARD to get right in Poser, they get all weird.  I also wanted to suggest possibly making a 'scuffed' version of the balls, they often have little dings and scuffs, especially if people have been using the numbered balls instead of the cueball (darn kids)

Myself, I'd just re-map the balls to have a different 'material' over the colored area, so the edges between the number circle and the color cannot get blurry.  It would also make it possible to use the same texture and model for many different balls, just color them differently.

And what's this about not affording expensive programs, you got Poser 5, which I want (hair and cloth shaders.  :) ).  I've got puny Poser 4, although I do have Posetta Peaks. ;)
That's like looking through a microscope at a bacterial culture and seeing a THOUSAND DANCING HAMSTERS!

Your whole planet is gonna blow up!  Your whole DAMN planet...

Thanks for your elaboration hollister man. I have though considered all these things.

About Poser. Poser was $199, wich was alot of money, and to think I also bought Bryce5 already wich was at the time $99, that was just about enough for me. I think maya is something like $1500 and lightwave $600 if I'm right?! Well that's what I mean with too much money!

jrl2222

I am hoping now that DAZ productions has control of Bryce that a new bryce program will be coming soon.
