This is my latest background..
well its a rework of a rework of a rework of an old background posted here. Its been colored and inked and I am half way through detailing and shadows (the left side is mostly done)

I'm just curious too know if you like where i am taking this, with the style. I'm going for a comic book style for a comic game :P
I remember that background looks pretty cool now.
The right part of the screen looks unfinished, add some shadowing to the mountains and hills in the background, etc. The sky looks to busy, draw those clouds in a more simple way.
I disagree - the sky looks good - I think it's the most artistic part of the background.
I like the finish on the fence in the foreground too.
The lighting and colouring on the path is odd though. It looks like it's raised above the grass.
i think this is a nice bg, i like the layers it has with the fence to the tree and building etc, the one thing that is bothering me is the fence on the left has no texture like the right and the bush has no shading.
i think the style is very nice and very easy on the eyes keep it up.

*edit* and one more thing, give the stuff on the horizon some more depth eg shading and fade some of the stuff
It lacks of depth. alot.
Try to shade, color and do whatever you can to remove this too 2D-ey look.
Also, try to fix all places where lines were done too hasty and cross each other (especially on left part of bg, house roof, clouds, many on bricks ).
