Title: A Character
Post by: UP on Mon 26/07/2004 17:50:36
Here's a character I made with the regular Paint. I haven't yet edited it in any ways (like resized it or something).

So what do you think?: http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/Char..bmp

OK, here's a bit bigger pic (though not as sharp): http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/Char._Larger_ed..bmp

Can it be too detailed?

I like it.
The shirt seems to have random noise instead of detail, and the arms look wierd. I think its the shadows.
The face looks good.

I respect the fact that m$ can't save anything apart from bmps, but it CAN do pngs, if you ask it.

That makes no sense whatsover.  Contradicting yourself, oxymoron... :D

He looks really stiff, 'Not Yet'.  Loosen him up a bit.

What I meant was a lot of people believe that it only does bmp, because that is the only option given. But if you set to 'all files' you can save it as 'filename.png'

I was typing quickly, and didn't read over it.

Looks alright, but

-he seems to be leaning to the left a bit (his arms, anyway)
-you may want to use different colours for the shirt for better contrast with his skin -- right now, it's hard to tell the difference between the shading of the red and the brown of his skin.
-his yes look a touch high on his face
-if it was me, I would shade quite so high up his crotch

Okay. Two things.
#1, what you said, Mr Flibble, is absolutely and horribly wrong.
Changing the file extension (in case the progrm doesn't seem to support that extension) does not, I repeat, NOT convert the file to another format. It is still BMP, but it will tell you it's PNG.
#2, not all versions of MS Paint have all those formats.
I'm using Windows 98. My version of MS Paint, for example, doesn't support them.
