Lo.

My friends and i are starting a Wargame Model Club, competing with other clubs, entering tournaments and the like. Anyway, I've been throwing around some ideas for a logo. This is really just a preliminary, but hopefully some of your ideas'll be able to make it look a little better.

Hmmm needs a lot of work bub!

First of all your 'f' is chopped off on the far right.

Second of all, that colour scheme has to change.

Third of all, Scrap the font and use something else. Something less poncey and more
menacing.

Fourth of all, the black font under the red font is something I used to do, but you have it on a backdrop (the shield) that is also black, thus losing it's "3D" effect.

So the biggest problem I have with it, is the use of colours.

Okay, hope I wasn't too harsh!

Your logo has a couple of problems. Your text is hard to read, mainly because of the shadow effect and the heraldic icons steeling the attention. A mellow blue and black in the background works rather well on its own, I think the main issue lies in the text. First of, get rid of the shadow effect. Then use a bold version of your font, and outline it with black and see how that turns out. You could also shorten the line separation inbetween the two words, they are unnecessary far apart.

When it comes to logos, you may also want to think about ease - making a logo that works in just black and white so you could use them in simple copies and faxes. This could be achieved easily in your piece by removing the heraldic icons and make the text white with black outlines.

Fiddle around some more and post it. I am eager to see your results!  ;D

With the heraldic backpiece and so... I would suggest using "noble" colours. Such as royal blue, wine red and gold. Also a deep emerald green can do the trick. Those colours are very relaxing for the eye and automatically brings a sense of class to the thing.... Thinks I.
Just a suggestion.

Anyways, listen to ManicMatt and 2ma2.
I hate signatures. Signatures are stupid.
