Really nice :D.

But I think the bright green hilights on the vines on the tree on the right are a bit overdone. They look like flourensic lights/toxic waste/lasers/whatever to me.
And, I can't recognize the bright green parallogram in the middle, what IS that?

iron_man

Thanks ;D
I tend to think - i am not sure though- that the green on the trees is green neon  glow from the planet. So i put a green crystal to justify the glow of the trees. :)

The AGI picture did not provide enough information  about the origin of this green thing. I made an assumption.

Looks really great. But I don't like the neon-vines. I second what Gilbot said "they look flourensic lights/toxic waste/lasers/whatever". And the crystal just doesn't look much like a crystal. If you give it more detail it might work. One last thing you could do is to blur the bottom edge of the rock so it blends in better with the ground. Other than that its amazing. The grass look practically real, and the texture of the trees lifelike! Great work.

iron_man

Thanks for your comments.
I will reconsider the green thing on the trees and modify it. Perhaps if i find time for a space quest 2 remake you will see the finished version! ;D

The texturing was done the hard way...
hours and hours and pixel by pixel. :o

Calm down with the grass brush, doing it your self may lead to a more pleasing result

iron_man

...to a broken wrist more accurately  ;D

That's why photoshop has brushes. I love them. The results are rewarding. ;)

The Subliminal Messenger

I think it looks great. It's got real atmosphere to it.
No one told me there were laws AGAINST Public Nudity!

I cannot do better (I suck at backgrounds) so I will say cool and leave it at that ;).

It looks a little slanted...which really isn't shown in the AGI backdrop.

3 other things:

:The grass/bush in the top right, looks a bit metallic or jell-oish, I honestly can't tell ya how to fix it though..(MSpaint man)

:Clean up the edges on the rock..its a bit brighter...darken it a bit, maybe add some shading under it and it won't look like it is floating.

:The tree in the foreground has some flab on the branch, maybe would look better without it.

Other than that, it is very well done.

Sutebi

It's been a while since I played Space Quest, but isn't that green "light" on the trees supposed to be moss that you can lick at some point. I thought it was, but I might be confused.

Nice picture, though.
BLOORUGAHS!

iron_man

thanks for your comments.I am glad you liked my picture :D
I will fix them earlwood, when i find some time.

Sutebi : i will be damned! I did not know that the game informed you that it was a moss. Whenever i wrote 'examine' 'look' to extract information about the glowing green thing it just said that they are trees. It is moss!!! Now i have to change all my backgrounds and make the green glow light to resemble to moss! :(

Thank you for pointing this out to me!
:D

PS : lick the moss ? what sick mind you have  :P ;D It seems that you are a genuine space quest fan  ;)

Blackthorne

It looks nice, but I think the grass looks TOO long.

Basically, I didn't envision this planet in SQ2 as a 'grassland' type place with long blades of grass; I always saw it more as thick bushes and jungle type flora.... with the 'walkable' areas as trampled versions of the same underbrush that grows there.  The grass in your shots seems like long savannah grass.

The tress look great - but I tend to agree with what people say about the neon vines.

Overall, a great pic, man.
