Title: A walk animation for whoever who wants it...Edited
Post by: Nacho on Mon 15/12/2003 23:15:19
It is the flashback walk animation... IMO, it can work as a template for many characters, PM me if you can´t use it for the "gifizication".

I'm actually quite surprised.  I've seen some walk-cycles in this forum that are much better in art-quality  and fluidity.  It's a useful example but it would've been more fun to just post it and see how many people tell you it's too jerky or how it lacks detail.  ;)

Unless my diseased memory deceives me the Flashback animations were a LOT smoother than that. Weren't they done with vectors, rather than pixels. I guess it's just a shoddy capture jpb...or my memory is indeed gone.

Eeer... I extracted it cuting and pasting screens, maybe there left some frames. Also, the frame that when he´s standing is shown after the loop, which makes it less smoother. Anyway, it was just a resource if anybody wants it...  :'(  :'(  :'(

I wasn't saying it wasn't a helpful resource.  Thank you for taking the time and energy to provide another animation resource for forum users.  I was just observing the fact that we have very picky people here since I've seen some sprites & animations that surpass some commercial work in quality.  I need to replay Flashback to see how smooth the walk-cycle was, though.

It's missing one of the frames, called "high point"

You can find the explanation here:

I´ve added a new frame and deleted the "number 0" frame, the "static" one. I think it looks better. Anyway, this is just a resource, feel free to cut, edit, throw, piss over... ;D

I think that the rigth leg comes back too fast... probably the missing frame it´s there, I´ll revisit it...
