Title: Aldo's Front Walkcycle
Post by: filipp8 on Fri 27/08/2004 17:53:36
Hi, I'm new here but I already love this board
This is my first attempt to make a sprite: he is a char of a very popular comic in Italy and I would love making a game out of this

lol
no, his head is right; the black on the downside of head is not hair, is a sort of shadow...

anyway this creature is not human, is a sort of "monster"...

MITICO!!!

If you manage to create a game based on Ortolani's comics it will be a bomb... Let us know if you're already working on it and show some background and ideas too

I would say add frames and make the walking smoother.

This is damn cool. Congrats on a loverly looking anim - and with only three frames. If you added inbetween so that you see the fingers closing and stuff you'd have a loverly fluid anim. Good Luck in your endevours filipp8.

i like the idle frame. But the only thing that bugs me is the brown outline to his legs and feet. Try making the legs outline dark red and the shoe outline dark yellow.

I actually like the first animation better.
The new one seems a little.. jumpy. Nice work anyway.

And the same color animation with a little of antialiasing

when he is walking, his body is jumping up and down, left and right, back and forth really fast, i have never seen anyone walk like this, work on it!

Well, this character is gibbous and has clumsy movements and all his body "follows" his movements...
maybe i'll try slowing down the anim...

I think the first 3-frame animation captured the movement best. try adding inbetween frames but making the animation last the same length of time as the first try...

There's a bit of a continuity error - on one frame an extra stripe appears on his forearm.

i'm not keen on the way his head moves side to side.. it looks like he keeps changing direction...
