It doesn't look quite right.

Your opinions?

Well, aside from the tentacles and skin color, he looks very human.
If he's an alien, why not give him more eyes or mouths or insect/animal facial features?

You've obviously never seen Star Trek?

Anyway, on topic: Contrast makes it difficult to see his face. Maybe it's an idea to make the face lighter, and the background darker.

Mouth is a little slanted, and if kind makes him look a little dopey.

Also, his color scheme suggests he's supposed to be a reptile (or whatever the equivilant of a reptile is on his planet is), so maybe you should make his skin look rougher.

I tried to make more contrast. I also added some scale-like things to the top of his head. Do you have any tips for making the face look rougher? I stink at textures.  :P

One small tip:

to make your images look smoother try to avoid 'double pixels'. I cut one example from your image and showed how you could do it differently.

Dot it with slightly darker pixels than the green of his face. Also, reptile skin tends to be fairly matt, so you might want to lose the shine on his face, but that's really your call. He dosen't HAVE to be a reptile, that's just what he looked like to me, and I wasen't sure if that was the look you were going for or not.

I suggest you try putting a different mouth. That might make him look more alien.

Erase his eyebrows and make his face unbelievably gaunt.

what's his occupation, he looks to me like that alien bouncer you don't want to get on the wrong side off. Since an alien doesn't look human, exaggeration helps with referencing the emotions.

I would make his facial features bigger. His face seems too big so you should use up more of the space you have to include more details on his nose, eyes, and mouth.  More detail would make him more interesting.   Also his eyebrows seem very plain as they are now. Make them more alien.

i'm not exactly a pro artist or anything but i just think the eyebrows make it look a bit strange and they might need either a re-do or just get rid of them all together.

i also noticed the nose looks slighty strange... maybe its shape could be slightly altered.
