I am not very satisfied with the color. Can you critic & comment please? :)
Thanks!
I think it needs to be a little darker. and possibly with something behind the 'No...' sign on the beach.
Wow, I really like this piece.
Your lines are very whimsical and playful. I think the coloring is strong, but I think the stand is a little too dark. I think the sign needs to be moved down a little more, so the edge of the counter overlaps it. Right now it almost seems like it's floating in the air above the counter.
Also, you might want to think about balancing your composition. As it is, the backgorund is almost divided down the middle, light on the left and dark on the right. Perhaps you could add something darker on the left side to compensate.
The style is great, but overall I'd suggest you mess around with the saturation/color balance. As it is now, the soft pastels on the lefthand side look very pale compared to the dark righthand side.
I don't think you need to make the bar brighter, but the sky and ocean could easily be bluer and the sand more yellow, even reddish/brown perhaps. I remember CMI MUCH more saturated than this. Take a look at

It's nice. Ã, The hand-drawing gives it personality.
But the only thing I think could be improved on is the sand. Ã, The way the light shines off of it kind of reminds me of how the sun shines off of snow... er, yellow snow...
Anyhoo. Ã, Very nice work, never-the-less.
ADDED: GarageGothic explains what I was trying to say much better.

I think it's a good attempt. There's value and color contrast which many pics in here usually lack. They're quite exhaggerated though which I think destroys the image.
It seems like you did a contrast adjustment after you painted the image. There's nothing wrong with this, but if it's really significant the values will get messed up.
The important thing is to keep the contrast low in areas that are in shadow from the main lightsource, and lack another direct lightsource. In your version there's quite some contrast at the side of the bar facing the viewer, which doesn't make much sense since there's no additional lightsource, atleast none that could compete with the strength of the sun.
Think you should also be careful with dark values in outdoor enviroments, especially blacks. In a sunlit enviroment there will be contrast, but that will usually range from medium dark to very light. Due to the sunlight bouncing off the reflecting sand and bright sky, most parts will be pretty lit up except concealed things such as the stuff beneath the bardisk.
Anyway, as I said earlier, I think it's a good attempt, just try getting the correct values down first, then color n such and make minor adjustments last.
Beautiful edit loominous. The contrast issues are gone, but I still think the saturation could be turned up a bit, at least if it's supposed to look like CMI.
Thank you very much for the critics!
Loominous, you're right, the color that you applied it's wonderfull. And what's about this?

Now that's a great picture!
The moons a bit low and not bright enough though :P
I like the first version better, it uses colours better than the edited one. ;)
I think one might close the umbrellas... or even take them WITH you when you leave the beach. Otherwise it's magnificent. Also it looks like mickey mouse is hiding behind that cloud.
right now it looks like some concept pictures from monkey island 3.
It's really really really great
keep it up
Great pictures, im really loooking forward to 'Le Ameleto Of Monkey Island' what program do you use?
