Good day. I am yet again, experimenting with drawing in a different style. Night skies with stars and stuff are my favourites.

This one was actually made long before the cottage image i posted to get criticism, just never got around to post it here.

This one I've been doodling on since last night. Spent around 1½ hours on it, more or less.

Please note, I'm not making a game. I have a gazillion bg's now, not being used anywhere. I have some Characters too. I wonder if i should share them?

The second pic...the only bad thing I can say is that the landscape sure is empty. No trees of anything, but maybe that's what you wanteD??

Anyway, these look mighty good.
You got it!

Coming Soon!

Yes share. Please, i beg you SHARE!

the lack of stars as the border nears looks kind of strange. And the sky border itself. The shade it casts on the sky makes the whole thing look like some sort of stage. The multitude of stars and their almost equal intensity adds to that. Unless that is what you are looking for.
Other than that, it is beautiful! I love the sumo-wrestler cloud (you might want to remove the outline on that to make it less distinct. Nothing else has an outline). I love the way the road transfers from large to small (though you might have difficulty working with that in-game). The city is beautiful too.
Add more trees! That's one way to fill up the background. And perhaps white lines on the road?

Now, with his very own game: Alien Time Zone

Looks great, but be careful with the black. This looks very Discworldy and that makes it much harder to master. I'd say clean up the chading a bit as well and add some clouds to the city skylight.

You did a great job on the city & lights.  Captured the feel of a lit city well.  There are way too many stars in the sky, and they are too bright, in my opinion.  It looks like you got lazy when you got around to doing the ground...I would just re-do that entirely if I were you.

Stefano

I like your BG! Even this concentrated in the center stars thing.
Only thing bothered me: the clouds! They're looking heavy (sumo, as Babar said). Too much lighting and shading, in my opinion. Also looking too close to the viewer.

Try using blueish colors and get rid of the outline. Reduce ilumination: think difuse light. The moon is not a lamp post!  ;)

Cheers,
Stefano
Trying to make my first AGS game.

Okay. So I edited the conscentration of stars to fade out into the darker area. I like the clouds as they are though. The grass I tried changing, but it didn't seem to suit the style after that. Does someone have an example? tried fixing the moon too by adding an outer glow. Didn't turn out well, I see what you mean though. I also tried adding trees to the bg, terrible my lack of skills say. they'd be suited for another style, or perhaps the size, colour and shading just doesn't match? It's amazing how different it looks in flash and how the outcome looks when converted from vectors. Maybe I should upload the flash version too for you to zoom around in and marvel my geniousness. I think I will...
