Well the first things that caught my eye were that the hair and blood from his neck stay in the "just-hit-with-a-huge-girder" position for much longer than they should. Also the body would probably bend forwards instead of back and the legs would certainly move.
Come to think of it the girder (or whatever it is) would have to be going a lot faster to knock his noggin clean off.

It all seems to be moving at an odd speed... the girder, head splat and dropping broefcase look too slow imo and the bending of the body and the blood falling is too fast.

Sorry i have no critiques about your animation, i just find them slightly disturbing.

I'm not a big fan of blood and suicide.

I think that was sort of the intent.

1) No blur, compadre.
Blurriness is what disturbs the most...

2) It's advisable to add something like "includes violence" into thread name, because, some people DO find these anims disturbing... and it would be people's-nerves-friendly thing to do.

3) The shake moment. Either the bullet collides with skull or girder thingy hits your head, people shake their head once, both because terror/fear moment and physics... and very quickly. For bullet, it also makes head shake harder since there's strong and quick collision. Add the shake into your anims to get more realistic result. So, basically, add a frame or two where head shakes in terror.

4) Since characters sure do look cartoony, making their eyes go bigger in the shake moment would also make all look better.

5) For second anim, shooting a revolver causes force that throws both the gun and hand holding it back. This way the shot would look more believeable. You tried this, as I see, but kind of failed... Now it's more like there was some animal in revolver who peacefully entered into guy's head or something... er - nothing like a gunshot, i mean.

6) The detailed way how head crushes doesn't match the lousily detailed briefcase and body falling part. Either make headcrush as simple too or spend more time on other two.

i find the quality and general content poor.

disturbing, but not in the way you intended. the execution/techincal side of your animation is the disturbing part, it really puts a damper on the shock factor of the animation content.

try and actually think of how the human body would react to getting its head squashed, or shot.

err...Ã,  :-\ deeply disturbing. These animations are not very realistic.
1) I doubt the guy who is getting his head crushed wouldÃ,  still have his legs standing.
2)The thing hitting his head has no detail whatsoever so we can't work out what it is.
3)Is this guy from the circus or something because he would make a ringleader a very rich man with that back of his.(flexibility)
4)The guy shooting himself seems to take the gun out of a pocket that magically appeared.
5)I believe that he would slump dead to the floor after the bullet has been fired.

That's all my crits.

I'd recommend using the porrasturvat or rekkaturvat simulators to get a better feeling of how the body reacts to impact.  http://jet.ro/dismount/ might be the official one, there are download links there.  They're free to download and I found them really useful, as well as interesting.
It also appears that the animation program you're using is quite primitive.  I'd google for a better one, but I'm too tired to do that right now, I'm sure there are better things that you can acquire.

Well, despite some of the bad critique you're getting, i think that the animation itself is pretty good. It could do with a few touchups like:

1) The first animation, the guy's body slumbs like a bendy straw. Maybe you should make it a bit... i dunno.... straighter.
2) The second animation, the guy's gun doesn't even look like it has a trigger.

Despite that, pretty good, as said earlier. Still, the whole blood-n-g0re thing is a bit... disturbing i spose.

Cheers,
Fb.
