Post by: remmies on Fri 09/07/2004 16:19:59
I was wondering if anyone would be intrested in helping me in my game, by 3d animating my chracters and backgrounds in my game "doll". You can find info about it in the ags games in prouduction forum section.Whoever animates will of course get full credit in the credits of my game. i am stilldebating if i want a 3d game it is according to if I am able to get a good Ã, 3d animator if anyone is intrested please tell me.
For the first project I would like the picture below to be animated.

A) Why did you post in the Competitions and Activities board?
B) Have you tried animating him yourself?

Here's the correct thread for a request like this: ACR - Need help with a Game (http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?topic=10001.0)

The character isn't bad ... you should give it a go yourself first.

Wait...lemme get this straight.  You can draw/animate your character in 2D, but you're asking other people to do it in 3D for your first AGS game.  Well, I personally doubt you will find anybody willing to model this in 3D, let alone animate, so why don't you just animate yourself in 2D, and show us what great games you can make, and then, just maybe, more people would be willing to help you.  And didn't you say you would like them to do 'your' backgrounds too?  Well, it sounds to me like you are expecting somebody to just jump out of the blue and 3D model all sorts of crap, but you would mostly take credit for it, calling it your game.  Thats generally not appreciated by us AGS folk.  Now, I suggest you start small, and make your own simple game, and we'll take you much more seriously.  If I assumed wrong about one thing or another, or misunderstood you, my apologies.

Understood ...

Though I must say, unless you get somebody with MAD 3D skills this character would lose all it's 'charm'.Ã,  I rather like him in 2D (I'm not a big fan of 3D games).

I really think you ought to stick with 2D.

Just my $0.02

hey look, funny spelling.

Seriously, the char looks nice. The shading is really good. all I would sugest is that you clean up some of the double pixles and you're set.

I agree with TikiTikiMan, you probrobly won't find anyone to DO it for you. I know where you can get a 3d Animation studio. Can I post the name for this site?
It's free!
