Another background i made

  i think this is great what i made: the effect with the smudging was accidental at first - but then i thought it looked awesome
tell me what you think 
at the moment the only problem i see is the bottom right is a bit buggered up

(don't want to spend too much time on it editing though!!)

Add some clouds though. And it looks pretty empty.. add an igloo or something..

Well, you see. there aren't exactly a lot of clouds on the poles. With the water not evaporating that much. I think it looks great!

On the poles? That could be a mountain in Norway or whatever..

about adding more: in the game you use a shovel on the side and make a small hole to stay in

I think he could have a portable excavator with lasers attached to it...

I'm not sure if there really are that many hills in there, but I don't think that's much of a problem

Not bad at all!

Some of the hills in the distance lack a bit of form... the one in the middle for instance, could do with highlights on one face of the hill, so that it looks more 3d.

Composition wise, it is rather empty, but I guess that the antarctic is pretty much empty apart from penguins

Just a tip: While smudge tool is a really useful one, don't abuse it... for example, in the distance where it meets the sky. If you ever make backgrounds that have more texture (comparitively to ice), you might like to use it less

But I think it looks pretty cool

A penguin! This bg tells me that this game definetly needs a cute penguin for main character! 

Well,
* Make sky lighter blue
* Clear the are where snow meets sky
* add some more shading to snow, there too much simply white area, imo
* remove gray stuff at rightmost part of screen
