Hee are a few tips...

-He looks stiff, add some creases in his top and trousers where his joints would be.
-Chage his skin colour. It needs to be less orange.
-I think you need to spend more time on his face. His eyes need to be more towards the middle of his face. Also Add detail: more shades of colour in his face, ears, a chin ect...
-Round his shoulders a bit.
-His arms need to be resting on his side. Lengthen his arms or shorten his torso.

Heres quick example of a face:

Hope this helps.

bnot to be harsh but, it would save a lot of forum space if you modified previous threads. i mean you could just add this, and your last thread onto your original.

about the picture, its not ba but there are some major problems. have you ever, in your life ever, seen anybody whose legs have no joints but can bend in and out like jelly? well i haven't. no matter what style you're going for you need some element of realism and anatomical correctness.

I think you need a few more frames

Kiddo, i like him before the shading, i quite like your simplistic style, nice 'n' retro.

What does Kiddo stand for? Kid, I suppose... ;)

Well... I actually agree with you, but EVERYBODY told me the first "retro" one Craps.
Uhm... it's a hard problem!

To tell you the truth I love the characters face, its very humorous. Make sure the game is funny too. I think the body should be more simple and squarish than what you have now (think early kings quest) but other than that it looks great.

Just be yourself. Draw to your ability and say "Well screw you" to everyone else if they tell you it looks like it was drawn by an epileptic monkey.

Want critics?
Redo that window (if that's what it is ::)) It looks stupid.

I like this background better than your last one. Try and spend more time on the main character though.  8)

Hawkins,
Try to be a little more constructive with your comments. If possible you should explain how he could improve the window maybe even provide a paintover, please no more comments of "It looks stupid."
Regards,

Alec

I agree with lawrence about the face; I think it's quite amusing.

What I don't so much like about the character, personally, is the upper body.  Unless he's supposed to be wearing an extremely loose and puffy sweater or something, it looks quite odd.  The left arm is much fatter than the right arm, and the shoulder in particular juts out strangely, and the bottom of his shirt/sweater/whatever seems too low.  (The right shoulder juts out a bit much too, for that matter.)

A very quick redraw (though I may have shrunk the right shoulder a little too much):

No, they don't.

There's a difference between giving thoughtful and constructive c&c, and just toss out compliments, Blackman.

The style of the background is fine, but I think it would help you to think a little about composition. Is that large area of ground really worthy of being the image's focus? The building is far more interesting. Here's a very, very rough photoshop of how your image could be a little more interesting:

Ok, here I'm back with my silly char "Jack".
I maintaned that silly "hunchback" position, and I focused on the face. What do you think about his face?

You can see the original one in the upper screenshot .

Note: I'm beginning another game.

Is he wearing lipstick? It looks like that now.

Also, his features seem rather sharp. His eyes, eyebrows, nose, hair, are all squared off.

Heres a quick paint over:

Changed the face, arms, and feet. This show more how the head's to big for the body, or fine if that's your intension.

What is "lipstick"?

However, I liked your changes. I will remember it.
