I just redid an older work I had done, and now I used East West products. The reason is that East West has a monthly contest with a 1000$ prize for the best demo (as long as the demo only contains East West products... IT makes sense). Anyhow the theme this month is Romantic!

I personally find it complete. I find it very nice and romantic and all...

But I might be missing something so you are most welcome to critique anything.

Any critic or idea about anything goes (Reverb amount, productions, orchestration, sounds, EQ.. anything)...

Thanks

if we help you, do we get part of the prize money?  ;D

bo money!

You will help me cause you love me  :D

Plsu the money is not actuall money but products fro mthe same company. So Mordy if you're after a sample libtrary... dunno... we can talk about it.

Thanks for making me clarify this.

I know nothing about music composition, so I'm afraid I can't be very helpful, but I must say that I really liked it.  However, it struck me as more angst-ridden or dramatic than romantic (if you mean romantic in the usual sense)... I felt conflict rather than love.  A moving piece, though, and I enjoyed it ^_^

what is this East West production thingie in the first place?

kOSTAS

excellent work Nicolas special for that reason you say. (I saw them site)

small suggestion
maybe (try and see how works)  put some drums near the end of the music to
give some more bass (as it goes for a demo work for this company)

This suggestion does not mean in anyway that your music  dont "rock"

*sob* Thats all i can say! It sounds like something out of a movie where a dad just watched his son and wife explode... Really intense and beautiful! I suggest you add some "opera" voices or something about here: Thats where the musics gets all extra intence. Hope i helped! :)

Hehe.

EastWest is one of the biggest (not the biggest though) sample production company. My samples (that you hear in this track and all tracks in my site) are from EastWest. Each month the mambers of the forums there choose a demo and the composer gets 1000$ worth of products. And the company gets a new demo each month to use as an advertisment fro their products. Can say fairer than that...

Kostas and Victor: I'll try those suggestions. Thanks both of you!

You know, confined in classical training it never crossed my mind those things you suggest, and it may very well work! THANKS

But anyone else who thinks anything else, come up and say it ;)

Wowzers, that's one totally cool track!!!!!!
Absolutely love the climax - I think I want to have a little cry now (sniff). Very emotional - not helped by the fact that I couldn't listen to it without visualising a son and wife exploding - thanks vict0r :p

Only thing is (and you know Nikolas that I have absolutely no right to make judgements on musicÃ,  ;D ) I felt that the little "bong" at the very very very end didn't feel strong enough after the lovely intense string action just before. But then, I'm probably wrongÃ,  ;D

Nikolas, can you do music for my game? :o

I've got no experience with making music, but I still have C&C:

I liked this demo, though it ends a bit suddenly. You should improve on that part.
It's very emotional and romantic, though you have to listen for a while to really get what's so romantic...

Next to that, nice work!

First of all I'll say that's it's a fantasic piece of music and composure.

Now to crit! The bells at the beginning are symbolic of death rather than romance... are you sure this is the right song we're listening to? ...and so does the music, it sounds like a tragedy has occured, and that's the emotion I'm getting, rather than that of romance. (Unless it's a romance with the grim reaper)

So in short, great song; not romantic. Sorry.

And yes, the bell at the end could do with a little bit more in the volume perhaps, although without hearing how that would actually sound, I'm not sure, and as it is, the bell is blended into the music and feels like a part of it. Does increasing the bell's volume make it stick out?
