Hm...I think I've gotten the perspectives and such right, I just need to makethis shop seem...more full. Right now I'm having trouble making the shelves look better stocked when I'm using this resolution. Any suggestions?

I did a very similar background awhile back ... the trick was just cramming stuff into the shop! I just started adding and then tried to fill up all available space. It depends on the type of shop this is supposed to be I guess. My shop was an antiques shop so I cluttered it up BIG time. I would suggest adding in some foreground elements as well to make it fill a bit more "full" in there.
Here is what I did:

Hope it helps!
remind me why we stopped making that?
Yeah, I think Darth has a point there. Your store looks nice overall, but I never saw one with shelves that empty.
Although it's a completely different style and is somehow an extreme example, see how the mass of products conveys the illusion of a "real" store. -> Click here (http://www.longwayhome.de/down/shot0001.jpg)
The main problem, as I see it, is that there's only one of every item. In a real store there could easily be half a meter of shelf space filled with identical boxes, bottles or whatnot.
Check these screenshots from the Leisure Suit Larry games for comparison:

Oh my! :o Darth Mandrab, this is soooooo awsome! :D how you made all this shadows and texture effects? Probably photoshop, but i want to know how. If you made a tutorial would be aawwssoommee! ;D
Thank you.
Yeah, I've got to say that's great. I'd especially be interested in knowing how you did the wood grain.
I think your background works pretty well. It has a very clean and functional retro-style, even though it's not very realistic. I would certainly accept it as a shop, albeit a rather sparsely stocked one.
Darth's ol' curiosity shop is definitely one of the better shop interiors I've ever seen pixelated for a game background. I also think it's one of your finest pieces, Darth.
The background is quite good, but the items on the shelves seem to be done in quite a hurry. They're all coloured RGBY, and I just think you need to do some effort and add cool stuff.
Most convenience stores have several rows of shelves. I would suggest putting one along the left-hand wall (perhaps a fruit and veg stand?) and one or two more between this one and the one that's already there. This will partially block the view of the counter but will make your shop look more realistic. (If this means you can't see the counter, then maybe the viewpoint is wrong; the Larry Vales images have several rows of shelves and use a different viewpoint so that you can see the counter.)
The items in a convenience store would be crammed together rather than spaced out. These items currently look more like exhibits in an art gallery. Space is at a premium in convenience stores and owners try to pack things into every available cubic inch. The items don't have to be individually recognisable.
Some ideas regarding the colours... A lot of things in real life come in light-coloured packages rather than dark ones and usually have pictures on their containers.
You could always try looking at a real-life convenience store for more ideas.
