It has been a while since I've posted anything artistic on this forum... mainly because I've been busy with far more important things than hobbies. Like work, school, relationship etc. I'm not going in on the subject, but I made my very first art in a looong time, and I was so satisfied with it I had to share it with you guys :-)

I know the paintjob seems rushed, and I tried to clean it up a bit, but i liked it that way! gave it a very authentic feel, in my opinion... Then again, my opinion doesn't mather now, so please, C&C.

sincerely

EDIT:
forgot to tell you guys it is a tracing of a collage I made for a project (I know, bad me) but a great effort is put behind all this, keep that in mind :-)

Yahharhar, don't mind if I do, I like the job on that dog. No, really, I opened this thread thinking, wow, a smoking dog though the topic indicated a bit otherwise and how was I surprised! Awesome, smoking dogs are so cool. You know, to look at it, the neck on it looks like a fur collar of a rich bourgeoisie lady... eh.

About the blond, she's fit, and breasty, and nice. I like the way you've done the face, personally I can never do the face, it's like impossible. And I like how whn her head doesn't show, she's not very anorexic-looking anymore. More like a good body. One thing that bothers me though is that her foot is waaaay too small, and the whole leg seems to be like inside the dog a bit.

Admitted, the paint job is a bit messy, but I think it looks very good this way. I love the picture, especially the dog, it's so great. Just a hat and sunglasses and I would die. This guy's got some true class and a fine lady. Boy I sure hope I was that dog... I can't seem to stop writing here so I'll just end here.

thanks for the comment :-)
I know the foot's too small, I was trying to make it look as if we were watching it from another angle, it's hard to explain... I'll make som adjustments tomorrow ;-)

I really like the dog as well, the loose colouring job you did really suits it and gives him/her texture.

For the woman, I would suggest using a dark tone of brown for the shadows instead of black. Ã, I find the black a little jarring, and the contrast between the black and skin tones accentuates the messy strokes... which may be what you were going for, but I find it a bit too messy for my taste.
Nice work overall ^_^

not a crit on the actual art as such, but as i've recommended to people before, if you're doing artwork like yours with colour, never draw on a white BG, it completely throws your sense of colour and hue.

okay, I'll take that in to concideration.
can you give me any example of how it should be done, or what kind of background i should start out with?

thanks for the crit though

did some minor changes so I wouldn't lay in bed all night twitching because I would have this enormous feeling of incompletion... or something like that
